It takes at least 2 turns of shooting per RR unit for them to "breakeven" on value, so you need to keep them alive. Very much like 8th Ed HG. They don't start being good until you get 3 turns to shoot them at stuff.
Basically, you need to keep the unit alive to get value.

I like your list a lot, but just a few thoughts: Indeed instead of rerolling 1s and 2s for your single psycher you could get an extra inch for pile in and consolidate moves or extra ap on 6 to wound (that one is time consuming and we must be wary of the clock so i don't like it). But perhaps the extra inch isn't so useful, i dunno it works for me but maybe not for everyone. Biophagus seems like a waste in your list, what do you need him for aside from giving Enhanced Resilience to a few neophytes ? War convoy works on less than 25% of your army, but it can be enough to do some work. Why do you need to bring an acolyte in from deepstrikle turn 1 (from every angle) ? Wouldn't it be better on a large neophyte pack to ensure the turn 1 Ambush secondary ? Perhaps you don't plan on using that secondary.
Not a fan of the 5 man metamorph flamer unit, but i guess you don't have anymore troop slots for flamer acolytes ?
Your list more generally lacks melee threats, but perhaps that is ok. I am playing custodes this friday evening too, I think they have very few ways to win on points against us, but the bikes are a very high threat to us. Tanglefoot grenade will be ok as your rock cutter acolytes will charge a vehicule (or his bikes ? Dunno if bikes can tanglefoot) of his and not infantry.

I initially had the extra 1" but decided against it as I am familiar with this setup. (Was my first entry into Myriad and came full circle.)
The Biophagus is just there for random buffs yes, and it may be switched into the Clamavus before we get there. I just don't have enough practice with it, and I missed the doc. If any model is there just because it is the Biophagus.
War Convoy is always a nuisance on bikes, and I was taking it on lists with 2 units of min bikes, and still enjoying it. Anything that skews math helps. Grinders with Convoy can really botch 2D weapons.
Also, I forgot I changed it a bit. The Metamorphs drop and become a truck for the 10 Acolytes. Will update in list.
Lack of melee is fine, as this army doesn't really do it well at all, and the secondaries reflect this. Purestrains and 10 Acolytes are just there to help move the board around. I have never had any success with Acolyte lists, as they are going to crumble against whatever they hit (4++ is everywhere and they bounce against it.)

My heavy rock scissors acolytes yesterday (10 models and the other a 15 model squad) fumbled so hard into sisters that I must say I agree with you. They are good into IK and that’s about it. In fact they are so bad I nearly want to try Abbie’s instead, or go full shooting. I still won that game against sisters (a very good player too) thanks to Celestine rolling a 1 on her resurrect (he was rolling really hot all game si he had it coming hah hah)

I have switched it up since and thought I would try Drills again in a big squad.
18A, 0 6's. This is why Drills suck. You get exactly 1 activation on Acolytes per game and if they fail to kill their target you just handed 200 points to your enemy. They did a whopping 6D to a Landraider.
I have jumped back onto TH for now. Doing my first tournament on the 20th and need to have a list I can play 3x. Myriad is too big brain for too little gain.
Small note: I have dumped RND. That secondary is garbage. Banners even on 1 obj missions.

I had the opposite experience where banners was very hot or miss but RND was relatively reliable to get. I think I had a tendency of having a big blob get boxed in close to one or two objectives so banners was giving me issues. I switched to RND and had no regrets. What are your experiences with banners?

I always max RND, last game Friday it was actually my bikes that did the final table quarter.
Yeah big acolyte melee blobs suck, they are too exepensive and whiff too easily, both my blobs (Industrial affinity so i ran heavy rock cutters) did next to nothing with one failing a charge (6 was enough as i popped out of a line of sight blocking cover to charge) with a reroll, and the other using 18 rock cutter attacks (+1 attack from psy MOBeyond) into morven vahl and doing... 4 damage (the non rock attacks went into the 2+ save bodyguards).
I won that game 92 to 76 because my neophytes carried, and last games where similar, so from now on its 80 neophytes, 2*10 pures, and 0 other melee threats (aside perhaps from rockgrinders which i don't currently use but which I may get back to, soon)

I hate RND because it is easily screened and for all the effort maxes at 12. You can't afford that loss of points against some armies. You can easily get 4-6 last turn if you go 2nd. Just experimenting.
I am using a variant of above in a league and hoping to peel something off it for my first tournament. Ease of play is more important for me now than big brain lists that time me out.
Codex: Neophytes is finally here. Bikes or walking, it is their time.
Acolytes just bounce off all the BS defensive deathstars there are now. At least you might get 2 activations out of Neos.
Playing against Necrons first. We shall see if there is any merit here or if it is just "sink"
9+10 is just too much for a model that dies after 1 fight.

Acolytes need to hit the shelf until they are appropriately costed, 5 points only for industrial weapons seems to be the bare minimum. Indeed they bounce hard, waaay too much defensivs BS going around atm
Necrons is suppsoed to be a really hard matchup because they score better than us and we need to win the attrition match. Don't expect to do too well if your opponent knows what he is doing

Haha no I was hoping for a 91-71 (which should help explain how imbalanced secondaries get.)
It ended up 100-41. My plan went well just poor damage output. Purestrains landed 42A, rolled 6 4+'s to wound. Kelermorph missed entirely 3 shooting phases, failed every charge except those that were 2" away.
IMO Acolytes are dead until we get points updates.
Trying to paint up the Combat Patrol/Bikes I traded my now dead Brood Bros for.
Adjusted list a bit but locked into TH for the league. If I can hurridly paint 20 Neos I might be able to do 80/20 for the tournament but alas.. That is not realistic.
GSC is in such bad shape right now.

TH is in a bad shape imho, but myriad cults with shooty lists aint doing too bad atm (some armies still just destroy us plain and simple though). Friday i will play a 30 bike 90 neophyte list, only 10 pures for melee. I will try and get paired into necrons by the organiser (its my club where we train for team tournaments), I need to feel the pain !
In any case you seem to have have had rubbish luck (just like me sunday morning against Tau, there was just nothing i could do, the dice gids smiled on me hard the afternoon where I crushed a Votann list just so hard !!); perhaps with more luck you could have won ? or had more or less a draw ? What do you think ?

Too uninteractive secondaries to win. If I went second it could have been better, but the lack of activations and math is the biggest killer. Most armies can make up for bad math rolls, we just lose.
My next opponent is Iron Hands and this should be an even match. We can do fine against Orkz, Admech and Astartes.
I am of firm belief even the people that do well with GSC are lucky in avoiding those "no" matchups.
Ex. Custodes and Harlequins just laugh at the bike lists.

I had a few Grinders in initially but dumped in favour of giving Cutters another go for my Acolyte squad. Present juicy AT options en masse or not at all I think.
Icons on each squad just to see where it leaves me.
Excited to put my brain to the test. Never done 3 games in a day before and am fairly confident I can go fast enough and not crash and burn.
