Necron fluff contradiction

In the fluff for the phase out: "it will disappear in an eerie fashion, leaving behind nothing of its presence" Keyword: NOTHING I was painting my daemon prince to Teeznetch colors and I noticed a Necron head on it's trophy belt. A human-esk skull, a marine helmet, and a Necron warrior head (I think), but no tyranid trophy. I feel cheated -_- So I was wondering how the prince got the head, did he(?) grab it and leave before the Necrons phased out? If so, then does that mean on a battle field somewhere there is a headless warrior firing its guns aimlessly?

There are a number of stories supporting that, when a Necron is damaged badly enough (i.e. Instant Death or something else that's totally going to rip it apart), not all of the parts manage to phase out. The Tomb Spyders and other Repair Units back in the Crypts can make spares to replace those Parts. The wonders of being a Mechanical Life Form

Also, the Daemon Prince could have invaded a tomb world. Supposedly, Necrons are supposed to fade out back to a tomb world, but what happens if they get mugged on a tomb world? I believe that they just die, or their essence moves to a different tomb world.
This would leave all the pieces of necrons and their bits and bobs around, while their spooky necrominds go spinning back to some other tomb world.

additionally, the warp is anathema to the Necron. it could be that the demon distorts reality so much that the head cannot actually vanish back to whence it came. then of course, Orks have been looting monoliths for a while now...

There's a Necron head impaled on one of the Chaos Predator's spikes, if I recall correctly. And I've seen another one somewhere else, I'm sure...
Yeah, I remember the fluff saying Necrons were nightmarishly hard to capture, and the Imperium had only one, trapped deep within Terra or somewhere. Then again, there was a chapter approved thing once where you could capture Necronsm with a certain piece of wargear...
And of course, there's that 1D4chan story about Eldrad capturing one. For cruel, but hilarious purposes.

All in all, the fluff seem to indicate (if you take into account the multitude of contradicting fluff) that while usually almost every necron will be able to phase out, there are instances where one gets so damaged that it's unable to do so (like if one finds itself hacked to pieces by an overeager ork deffdread, or if it suffers a direct hit from a melta). And a looted 'lith is nothing short of proppa! But then again, orks can loot antyhing!(And for the sake of it, here is another one)

Orks can loot living creatures.

According to fluff, Orks cannot loot monoliths. They would simply discharge the energy stored inside and destroy itself. Or It would phase out or it would simply spawn countless numbers of necrons even under ork control. Also, how does something drive something that's remote controlled and has no way to be hotwired?

An Ork riding a Carnifex is just plain wrong. Steel plated mecha-fex is kinda cool, but an Ork on it? no!

If the orks would be able to wreck the monolith's core, and destroy the portal, and then add some engines of their own, and wheels to it (like in the picture), than they can of course loot it. Orks can loot anything!
