well since he hasn't been here in months, and we've all been using it, i'd say it'd be fine.
so long as you don't use his origional pics unless you can get permission from him to do so (like through email or something) n00b out

I "read" most the posts on the first 5 pages or so, and i have a few questions(please don't laugh if they sound stupid/were mentioned earlier/etc.)
1)I want to magnetize a Hive Tyrant, same basic idea/magnet size......the tyrant is metal, will the magnets hold, is it ok if i use a bit smaller magnets?
2)should i magnetize then paint, or paint then magnetize and touch up where needed?

i think it'd be fine to magnetize a tyrant. it'd actually be easier because the magnets would hold themselves to the tyrant while the glue dried. (though that may make it harder to line it up properly).
and he magnetized it before painting so i think that'd be the way to go. n00b out

shadow - The magnets will hold to the tyrant providing that you use glue and/or green stuff. They won't just hold to the body on their own because the figures are made out of White Metal Alloy which isn't a true metal, ie. Something the magnets don't attract to. Otherwise yeah, magnetise first, paint second. Paint first, magnetise second. It's up to you. You can always scrape paint off the face of magnets if you're that picky, but in all reality you wouldn't notice the paint cause the other magnet ( from the limb) would be covering it.

I meant "would the magnets hold *since the metal limbs are heavier than plastic 'fex ones*" thanks for the answers though, now i have to save up for magnets.

Depends how small you were intending to go with the magnets I doubt the 2mm diameter ones would hold up the head, legs or body easily together. You might get lucky with the 4mm, I'm not sure. The Lashwhip and Bone sword should be light enough to be held up with the 4mm magnets but I probably wouldn't try anything smaller. I just use 6mm diameter magnets personally.

I was hoping to go the "cheap and lazy way", and use the same size magnets for warriors when I get some........
You think 4mm would fit in their sockets?

For those of you in the United States, i found magnets cheap on this page, www.nationalimports.com/. I ordered 100 for 7.99, and they shipped the next day, had them in 3 days normal shipping. They are very strong, come in a lot of different sizes and worked perfectly for me.

I did my magnets before painting, the paint does not affect the magnest ability to hold at all. Also just a tip, i used a drimel with a drill size (1/8) that was the exact same size as my magnets, it worked very well. I have also found it is best to convert the two armed weapons (venom cannon, barbed strangler) to have both arms on the same side. Someone did a wonderful link to a conversion somewhere on these pages. This seems to hold the arms up much better, as well as clear up the front of your fex where all the detail is. Personaly i hate the way the wrap around feed arms can obscure your fex that way, especially if it is hunched over like one of my neanderthal fex's.
