hehehe, I did the same thing with my Ork scorchas (to make packing them easyer) and again to Tau hammerhead (so I can change its weapons and reconfig it to a devil fish).
I toyed with the idea of the carnifex but did a conversion that required pining. However as I want more flexable Elite fex's I will indeed go and see powermagnets to get some of there good stuff, not just for nids but future mods in other races. You can never have enough magnets of diffrent sizes, as this has alwas been holding me back.
thanks for the tips.
NB: do the armes rotate? as there is nothing to stop rotation on the arms?, or would a little rubber glue on one side of the 'joint' provide the friction to stop rotations?
NNB: I have been useing 'old one eye' claws as there bigger than the standard fex claws, will the magnets support there weight? (I suspect not but though I might as well ask).

nice I got my magnets now and I'm using 3x1mm ones for (old) Hive Tyrant and Carnifex and 5x1 or 5x2mm ones for the new Carnifex. Arms exclusively for the Carnifex will have 5mm magnets, arms also suited for the small Fex and Hive Tyrant wil sport 3mm magnets. Suggestions: -glue Magnets to plastic Carni from the inside (untested due to it being glued together already) -cut off part of the arm joint and then scrape a hole into it ans sink the magnet into it (only works with 3mm magnets) -use putty to align the arm after having the magnet glued to it -head an backpack stay in place without magnets (at least for me) as for metal claws: 5mm magnets will. they support cutters for me, and almost support the old hive Tyrant (without head and 2nd leg)

Some Pictures of my magnetic variant: Here you can see the magnets in size comparison to the standard-gaunt Devourer (3mm and 5mm) Two views on the 3mm Magnet glued into a Scything Talon the 3mm Magnets(painted black) glued into the arm-holes on the Tyrant This is how the Arm looks when magna-fixed onto the Tyrant You can see, that you'll lose almost nothing of the dynamics The same Arm fixed to the Carnifex the Magnets on the carnifex-side are 5x1mm ones Note that by using smaller magnets where possible makes them nearly invisible, even without using putty.

Nice I went to France, to stay with my grandparents. But I am back now. I should get this finished by the end of the week, and no pictures until it is completely done

28 magnets, 1 tail, 2 legs, 1 upper torso, 7 pairs of arms, 5 heads, 3 backs, 1 base, a load of filler, sand and various tank parts, 9 colours of GW paint, half a stick of GS, and Countless hours later.... I have finished At last (I swear I have spent more time painting in this last week than I have in the last 8 years of playing warhammer....) Anyway I took 24 pictures, but for fear of scaring away dial-up users, I will only post a select few, but giving a link to all the others for you to peruse in your own time Here we go: Carnifex with Spore Cysts, Enhanced senses, venom cannon, and barbed strangler Carnifex with Spine banks, Bio-plasma, T/L devourers, and T/L deathspitters: Carnifex with Adrenal gland(s), Acid Maw, and two pairs of scything talons: Carnifex with Adrenal Glands(s), Tusked, Scything Talons, and crushing claws: A picture of the base with legs attached: All the heads: 5 arms, showing inner side: The two-arms weapons: And there we go. Done. Finally. The rest of the pictures are here: photobucket.com/albums/y78/Icklemek/Carnifex/?start=0Enjoy Comments/critisism? I know I'm not an excellent painter, but I do my best
