I'm chickening out on the 'No Harpies' and swapping the Acidfex out for a Harpy with Dermic Symbiosis. (also removing toxin sacs on the reaper flyrant due to points). I don't like the Acidfex's range and low strength. The bombs on the harpy are too good. Plus the army will look cooler with all the winged creatures. Join the dark side, play 2 harpies and a flyrant!

It went well. The RTT was a 32 person RTT so 3 of us were undefeated. But I had the most points with 288 out of a possible 300 so I placed first.
I didn't get everything painted that I wanted to (they were using painting score) so I changed the list slightly from my previous post. Still 20 gargoyles
Levi Battalion: HQ - Neurothrope: Res Barb, Warlord, Synaptic Lyncpin, Catalyst, Onslaught, Paroxysm - 100 - Winged Hive Tyrant: Reaper, Aglands, Tsacs, Adaptive Biology, The Horror, Psychic Scream - 210 Troops - 10 Gargoyles - 80 - 5 Warriors: 5 deathspitters, 5 dual bs, aglands, flesh hooks - 145 - 5 Warriors: 5 deathspitters, 5 dual bs, aglands, flesh hooks - 145 - 5 Warriors: 5 deathspitters, 5 dual bs, aglands, flesh hooks - 145 Elites - Maleceptor: Neuroparasite, psychic scream - 170 - 2 Pyrovores - 60 - 3 Venomthropes - 105 - 3 Tyrant Guard: lash/sword - 120 - 3 Zoanthropes: Neuroparasite - 150 Fast Attack - 3 Raveners: RClaws, DSpitters - 90 Flyer - Harpy: HVCs, Dermic Symbiosis - 195
Patrol HQ - Flying Hive Tyrant: Shardgullet, Alien Cunning, Catalyst, Psychic Scream - 205 Troops - 10 Gargoyles - 80
So I went with maximizing scoring this time. I faced Aeldari, Space Wolves and Sisters.
The gargoyles were nice. They helped tremendously with scoring primary and secondaries. I didn't take RND but I did take Banners twice. They also helped screen the Warriors from charges while moving onto a midfield objectives.
1 Harpy seemed fine. With a built in 4+ invul, I was able to save Warp Shielding imperative for a turn when all the Infantry needed it since all my monsters already have a 4+ invul. This proved very valuable in all my games since the Warriors were able to survive much more than they had any right to when stacking 5++, 5+++ and -1 damage.
The Raveners were ok. I never really needed them for anything. I think 3 pyrovores would do better which I will have ready by the next time I play.
So in conclusion, I'm going to swap the 3 Raveners for 3 Pyrovores and keep the rest of the list the same because it's working for me.
PS: The flesh hooks did come in handy in 2 of the games since the terrain included crate-like obstacles.

Thanks and congrats. Hoping for another game Monday, but I've been leaning towards one harpy as well. It still gives the mobility and firepower advantages but minimizes the exposure and aircraft liabilities of running two. I think it also gives the option of reserving one if facing a massive alpha strike list with disadvantageous terrain and deployment. Do you reserve your gargoyles at all or just run them down field as screens.

The only units I might reserve are the pyrovores or harpy

Do Craters say anything about ignoreing vertical distances?

Do Craters say anything about ignoreing vertical distances? There were crates. Not craters. Crates can be climbed. Flesh hooks allow you to walk through them since you ignore the vertical distance it would normally take to climb up then down the crate.

Against Aeldari, the mission was Data Scry-Salvage. This is the mission where 4 objectives are in the middle of no-man's land while 1 objective is in the middle of each player's deployment zone. This is a tough mission to play against a mobile army (and one with a lot of forward deploy units like he had). For secondaries I chose Stranglehold (because I knew I could push him off objectives), Banners and Assassinate.
Banners was risky but I figured I could push him off all the objectives and lay down 3 to 4 banners by turn 4 to score me 8 extra points for turn 5 and end of game. It did work that way. He was tabled by end of 5 and he couldn't get me off the objectives. He went first so he had established a solid presence in the mid-field, but he left 1 objective open for my gargoyles to put a banner on (giving me 2 banners for most of the game). I then played very aggressively and moved the bulk of my force to the middle to take objectives.
Against Space Wolves, the mission had 5 objectives with 1 in the center. I took Stranglehold, No Prisoners (maxed after tabling), and Banners. Again I established 2 banners early, then fought for the middle until the last couple turns. I never maxed banners but I was able to get roughly 12 to 13 pts for it to match what I could get with RND. The nice thing about Banners over RND though is that your units are fighting over objectives which plays into Stranglehold, and your units can't fail the banner action.
Against Sisters, there were 5 objectives in Dawn of War deployment and only 1 starts in your deployment zone. He had a lot more units than the others so I didn't go with Banners. Instead I took Stranglehold, Assassinate and Grind Them Down. That turned out to be a good play because I only missed Grind Them Down on turn 1 and maxed everything else for a total of 97 pts. Banners would have been really tough here since the fight for the middle objectives was intense and he had endless waves of sisters that could launch at me from obscuring terrain. The Reaper Flyrant had a glorious round this game, killing 3 characters in 1 fight phase.

I don't own one yet but I've heard of impressive objective flipping stories using the parasite.

I’ve had great luck with ac parasite. It fills a role similar to death leaper for cheaper and with more options. I find you have to use it focused more on taking objectives than infecting models with parasites. It’s relatively fragile so will die quickly if you get to aggressive with it. As a disruption unit and objective Swiper it works really well though. It also can benefit from in Circle to pray to turn objectives for stranglehold and then escape if you need to

Everytime I consider the parasite... I end up just taking 10 more gargoyles instead. It's the same cost, does the same job, but is more resilient, can screen, and doesn't require a warlord trait or relic.

Given the changes to Encircle the Prey and the Maleceptor, I'm thinking about making a new Kraken list to focus more on Raveners, Zoanthropes and Pyrovores. Amazing how we're going back to Kraken in yet another edition. Speed wins games.

Amazing how we're going back to Kraken in yet another edition. Speed wins games. Also having -1 AP baked in to help combat AoC, so speed and offense. Though Lurk fleets are just behind Kraken, the obvious impending pts adjustment to Ravs, Wars, and Pyros will probably even all the fleets up.
