How do we deal with the New Knights?

Knights can still rotate their ion shields to give them a +1 on their invuln save. If hive guard are on the table as the main anti-vehicle, it's a good bet they'll save that strategem until the hive guard shoot.
If that knight is their warlord, they can give it a warlord trait to improve the invuln futher, taking it to a 3++.

Bugger. Better start bringing Abberrants into the mix. That invul doesnt work in combat right?

Bugger. Better start bringing Abberrants into the mix. That invul doesnt work in combat right? You can take the warlord trait for +1 to invul along with an heirloom (Sanctuary) that give a 5++ both in CC and shooting. So it would be a 4+ in both and a 3++ against shooting with the stratagem.

They can also run a knight Lancer, which normally has a 4++ in close combat, which would go to a 3++ in close combat when rotating ion shields.
I assume they could then make that knight their warlord for a 2++ in close combat, but I don't run knights, so am not 100% positive on that last bit.

If your opponent rolls in with a superheavy with a 2++... work the 40000 mw generators we have and bypass it entirely. Acid blood, the "mw on charge" stratagem, rubberbanding fex charges, biovores, etc etc. Gsc allies for hypnosis so those "mw on charge" effects live long enough to take effect... Nothing upsets a supertanked warlord like ignoring toughness and saves.

On a side note, a Dominatrix was mentioned in the new IK codex. Well, obviously it was about her being killed by some derpy knight, but it was nice to see a fresh reference.

kazetanadeAs already mentioned, 4++ for Ion Bulwark WL trait which you pick up for 1 CP (Exalted Court stratagem, running your Company Commander in Fisherman config), and Rotate Ion Shields stratagem. Not sure what you mean by your local players running Knights more aggressively, Hawkshroud is pretty much one of only two competitive choices, House Raven being the other.

They'd go for the high movement ones or one of the reroll houses. That's just how they think, less of an objective competitive decision. What you said still warrants consideration regardless.

Finally, mention of a Dominatrix in the lore again! (Best candidate for plastic nids LoW) Also, id quite like to see a batrep where a mostly Knights list loses. Atm they all seem to be doing really well...

kazetanade: I see. House Raven is the movement-based house (Heavy weapons become Assault when advancing, fire Assault weapons without penalty), coupled with the Landstrider WL trait (6" bubble of +2 to Advance and Charge rolls) that stuff becomes scary fast. And Knights have a "Charge after Advance" stratagem, it's 2CP but still. Sound the horns, T1 charge is a go, lol. autoxidation: Yes, and?
