Nyanko had been molded slightly into one of the book cases from the force of the demon's attack. Her protective psychic armour was really the only reason she wasn't nursing any broken bones. But still, it had been a jarring experience. She sat up slightly in the books her one normal eye making her momentarily think she'd suffered a concussion. At least, Sverre had simply teleported in the blink of an eye. Her hand slowly rose to grip her head.
And then he was beside her look down at her with what amounted to protective concern. She grinned at him and slowly pulled herself out of the book case and reached to ruffle his hair. "Don't worry. I'm totally fine. Although I might have a concussion. Unless you really can teleport." She shook her head a bit clearing splinters of wood from her hair along with quite a lot of dust. "Maybe I just gotta get used to having one totally functional eye."
The demon clearly hadn't been impressed by the witches. He danced about the attacks with a malice filled grin and even found the time to liftup the dust of the destroyed witch and toss it over the others while laughing. One however, managed to land an eldritch blast full on his chest. It didn't seem to particularly harm him, but it was clear the attack caused him pain. "I'm tired, you're in the way." He pointed at them and the same gloop that the wolf had been made up of suddenly errupted from the couch and rushed towards the witches forming into shadow demons. They were not as dangerous as this demon, but they acted as rather irritating shields, lending him the time to move towards Nyanko and Sverre.
He was smiling, "Yes. Concern. Protection. Friendship. Love. All those things that make human souls so particularly delicious but I'm tired of this little game. I have come to collect the Duke's soul, and if I am lucky I'll have her's at the same time." He'd reached them by this point and he pointed at Nyanko who had created a dome around them. The dome fell in a second as Sverre watched the usual pink light that was all around her gathering up into one place. It was clearly painful for her because she was gripping her sides and crumbling. The last hint of color that lept from her was a sickly red color, and it clung to the pink light like a leech.
Nyanko had stopped shaking and slumped back against the bookshelves. Her expression was blank, souless was the word. She hardly seemed capable of raising her head up even. The demon reached forward snatching the bit of red off of the pink light and it seemed to meld into his skin. He grinned looking down at Nyanko, "She's much better that way, don't you agree?" The demon leaned forward running the tip of his finger along the gathered light, almost as if it were a hard candy. He brought it back to his lips and smiled at Sverre as he tasted it.
Bits of ichor drained off of the demon to form up into more shadow demons to keep the witches busy. But it was clear that splitting himself so much was having an effect. The wounds that had been inflicted by Sverre weren't healing up anymore. The demon moved towards Sverre his hand reaching for his chest, "Come, I want to consume you together. Protector and protectee, although which is which I really can't say."
