Some new 6th rumours, how would they effect us?

Not sure about brody. I don't have my sex with me but is he considered a squad leader? I hope erreta fixes that to specify that he can challenge. Broodlord op if he can take a psychic blast attack AND issue challenges in combat with hypnotic gaze. Commando broods for the win! As far as I've been reading (In the rulebook), the broodlord has become a character. So he will indeed be able to challenge. But only other characters I think. Will check it tomorrow. From what i have seen upgrades like sargents and broodlords count for chalenges. Only bad thing is the 6"autonegate. Still i can think of named ICs who don't want to tangle with a broodlord. Implant attack with rending anyone?

Do we know who the 2 armies for the starter set will be? I heard at first it was to be Dark Eldar and Dark Angels, now theres something about chaos?

unless i'm missing something (there is a lot to wade through) rupture cannon is pretty baller now, esp. with an old avesary tryant near. AP4 doesn't have a penalty on the chart, it just doesn't get a bonus so you're still looking at S10+d6 for penetration. problem is going to be the expense. but with a 2+ armor, the removal of no reatreat! wounds and the changes to power weapons, things look do better for the tfex. coredump: to me, it looks like the table being 1 position worse would be balanced by the death by glances hullpoint system, no? Oh sure. Overall i think vehicles have taken a hit; and hull points are a big part of that. OTOH, the damage chart itself has been nerfed for weapons that are AP3-6. (And the same for the others.

Someone on BOLS was reporting that nid MCs were going to get eternal warrior or maybe invuln saves in the errata but I don't see how they would know that yet. Might go a long to fixing nids though if fexes on up were a bit tougher. How many times have you lost a MC to Instant Death in 5th ed, pray tell? The models that need EW are the mid-sized guys, not the T6 monsters. Our MC's would benefit much more from a generic invulnerable save.

I have a single Grey Knight player at my store, and there's about 12 of us total. I lose my warriors, zoans, and venomthropes to Krak missles and powerfists much, much more often than I lose my MC's. Occasionally I lose a poorly placed Tervigon to Jaws of the World Wolf, but that's about it.
The lack of "No Retreat!" wounds is fantastic for us. Gaunts/gants/gargs unupgraded can now effectively tarpit. I'm actually thinking about trying to use a unit of 9 rippers just to get a cheap 27 wound unit. 90pts, 27 wounds. 90 points of termagants is only 18 wounds.
With hull points, I think deathspitters and devourers just found a new use. 12 Devilgants from a spore hitting rear armor: 18 hits, 3 glances, average. That's enough to wreck a vehicle. 6 Warriors with deathspitters: 18 shots, 9 hits, 3 glances/pens. Again, enough to wreck it.
Since our spores can be fairly accurate when dropping, I can see our troops opening transports at range by just getting behind the vehicles. 6 Warriors are much harder to kill than the termagants, but they cost a bit more. Oh the possibilities...

Gray Knight force weapons Nib. Yup, that's about the only army that can reliably do that to us. How many armies are there? 15? MC's die to las/plas/missile/melta spam, not to ID other than in very few situations against one army, when your bubble wrap has failed. A generic invulnerable save is what our MC's need, our T4 needs the EW.

If you only got one: invul on mcs or eternal warrior on our t4 besides genes?

EW would work out better. 300% improvement over 50-100% improvement. Plus some MCs already have access to cover saves through Guard or venomthropes.

The latter of course. MC's get a 5+ cover for being 25% obscured. (If the rumour is correct, that is) Getting a /++ on top of that seems useless. If it works like FnP then it'd be okay, but invulnerable? Come on.

Missile launchers have an AA missiles: Str 7 AP 4 and skyfire. Long Fangs just became pretty nasty AA especially against the Harpy.
