Some new 6th rumours, how would they effect us?

I don't understand why S10 does 2 wounds to T6, but S8 does 2 wounds to T4. S10 is not double T6, so ... ? Some special exception?

I think people are assuming the pancake rules of if the S=T+4 it does and extra wound. Also from Faeit 212: "The Rulebook includes exciting features such as dynamic close-combat, flyers, psychic devastation and interactive scenery." and "One of the many exciting features of Warhammer 40,000 is Psychic devastation, where Psykers wreak havoc on the battlefield. Psychic Powers is the complete set of Psychic cards, which be used in conjunction with Psychic Disciplines. They make a great accessory to your tabletop games. This set contains 35 large-format cards and come stored in a plastic fan-opening case, which bears the Aquila. There are 7 cards for each Psychic Discipline, each of which is represented by distinct artwork. There is also an instruction leaflet that classifies which powers can be used by the main Psykers in the Warhammer 40,000 universe." So there are 5 "Lores", uhmm I hope that Tyranids get to keep ours. They are in the codex and not the main book. Also not sure I like the sound of "Interactive Terrain".

I would think it would be, +1S above double toughness = +1 wound, so: T6 vs S10 = 1 Wound T5 vs S10 = 2 Wounds T4 vs S10 = 4 Wounds T4 vs S9 = 3 Wounds T4 vs S8 = 2 Wounds T3 vs S10 = 6 Wounds T3 vs S9 = 5 Wounds T3 vs S8 = 4 Wounds T3 vs S7 = 3 Wounds T3 vs S6 = 2 Wounds Bad news for Dark Eldar HQs if this is how it is set up.

I would be fine with those. As for the DE, not any worse than they are now. Right now they are just DEAD at S6 if they are T3. If anything has Eternal Warrior ignores this anyway.

If the changes to Jump infantry and Preferred enemy are in, I can only imagine how much damage a brood of Gargoyles with a Hive tyrant backing them up can deal.

Wouldn't a hive tyrant still be a monstrous creature for its unit type? Shrikes gargoyles would certainly be better. Personally I am avoiding getting too worked up about one rumor or another until I not only read the rules but play test them and see what impact they have on both nidz and my burgeoning space marine army.

the supposedly leaked press release detailing the 6th edition release has them confirming flyers, new psychic rules/cards, new CC rules and 'dynamic terrain' whatever the hell that is (folks say the same terminology is used in WHFB, where sometimes the terrain just eats you. retarded, but i guess it explains why main battle tanks just get magically stuck when going over a hill 17% of the time). i keep hitting up GW's website but nothing yet.

Most of the terrain rules in Fantasy is ignored by tournaments, and I'm sure it will be the same in 40K. You don't want to lose the final of a tournament because the ruin you entered turn out to be dangerous terrain, after a roll on the 'Mysterious terrain' chart. Some tournaments leave it to the players to decide - if both players agree at the start of a game that all forests will count as 'Mystical Forests' then they will use the proper rules for that. Not a biggie, in other words.
Same for IC duels in combat. It will add a layer of tactics to the game, but it won't be broken.
Darnok at Warseer is rehashing rumours someone sent to him. The interesting thing is that they are mostly old pancake rules. The Warseer mods went mental back at the time of the pdf 'leak', they purged all rumour threads, pancake talks and banned several posters. Looks like it was indeed an early play test pdf.

If what Darnok says is true then things are going to get intresting. I liked the pancake rules so if 50% of them are used I will be happy. Sounds like they scrapped patchup though. Also in NOT a rumor the standard 2K pt tournys held at the factory have been bumped up to 2250 pts after this round of play. These are the prequalifier for Skull of Thrones so it looks like they might be bumping the points up on tournaments like we have been hearing.

Where did the term "pancake edition" come from. I don't get it.
If they're upping the preferred tournament size, then they've got to also increase the speed of the game. It's hard enough as-is to get an 1850 game done in 2 hours.

And from what I have seen of people playing with the pancake rules (for example) 2K points take 1 hour. It is supposed to be a bloodbath. Everything dies real fast. I have few problems with this as a nid player. If the speed is the same then I'm screwed as my horde list is slow enough as it is at 2K. I just redid it to make it play faster so I can actully make it to the end of the game.

I am really scared for the "fantasy magic die pool"
I once played fantasy orcs, and my friend was playing lizzardmen. His slan could kill my whole army, if I did not give all my heroes dispel scrolls.

His slan could kill my whole army, if I did not give all my heroes dispel scrolls. That doesn't scare me as much because Nids are one of the most psychic powerful races. In my current 2K army I have 7. Swarmlord (One of the most powerful psychers in the game). 2 Zoans The Doom Tervigon 2 Broodlord (And I could have 1 more if I want to make my stealer squads a little smaller). So no one can spam psychers like us. Hell If we want we can probably field 10 in 2K. [Edited because I forgot Tervigon]

So the pancake term refers to the supposed rulebook that was leaked about five or six months ago? I skimmed through said pdf and I didn't like what I saw. Assaulting before Shooting and movement stats could mess up things pretty badly.
