It seems awfully quiet here, several days after the points dropped, no one has had time to play a game yet? (I haven't but I'm pretty much out of the hobby). Where are you going with your first army list, what do you see as mandatory, if anything? Are Venomthropes worth including?
I can't find any 10th ed mission with secondary objectives, there's only the 'Only War' mission so far and it has no secondaries. So it's hard to judge the usefulness of Lictors yet. Oh, just noticed Old One Eye can't reroll to hit if he's not attached to a unit. That's... not great.
On a sidenote, seems 40K-forums are slowly dying in spite of the hobby seemingly thriving, so were have the 'written' communities migrated to? Where are the gathering platforms? Only scattered Facebook/Reddit/Discord-groups? Surely it can't be all verbal Discord? Kids can't be arsed to type words these days? Especially for us with other first languages than english, forums like these are golden, where we can communicate and digest information over the boarders, in our own pace.

is this really how woth works? i thought it was a "only once per turn" ability, even though you have multiple walkrants?

no one has had time to play a game yet? I have, yes . (Not sure if I want to write up anything too in depth, wasn't much of a game the first time, and then the rematch was just me playing myself...But I'll probably start rambling in a thread rather than just my excel doc) Basically. I'm in a few discords and while the active people>>members, I think most are 1k+ (main TTS server is something like 60k people) and reasonably active. Verbal's only really for games or specific discussion/chatting.

The only really active place I see is /r/WarhammerCompetitive, though there's a lot of drama going on with Reddit as a whole right now and long term viability of the platform. I expect there to be a lot of flux in the next few months as balance passes happen to both the datasheets and the points costs of armies, but I think it will be a fun time. When 8th dropped and everyone was at an index level I thought the game was very fun as it was missing a lot of the bloat from earlier editions, and looking back missing a lot of the bloat from stratagems and the codex passes from 8th and 9th. But mostly I'm looking forward to building some new Tyranid models! And getting a game in when I can.

Playing today against Astra Militarum. Going through the Missions last night for the first time I was thinking our Ripper Swarms could be the silent heroes of our armies.
There are no more ACTIONS like in the 9th. Now just about any unit (even Spore Mines/Aircrafts!!!) that is not within Engagement Range can perform actions. Small, cheap, deep striking units seem ideal. Raveners with their Re-dig also look like a winning thing.
edit: PM me up if you are lost in the 10ed deployment, missions, primaries, secondaries, gambit like I was, I got a cool compacted digital solution

Which means you just take bios for 40 instead of rippers for 35: smaller footprint and can't be overwatched. Even outside that, I think other units (mainly gargs/lictor/DL) would be better for more util, more objective presence, more reliability to get into places. Though I could see rippers, OC 0 does cut down on what they can do: can't even flip an objective on their own for e.g. cleanse.

1500pt vs death guard
match just to try units
shadow in the warp, useless, only chaos spawn failed the roll
walking hive tyrant alone full cac: did well, noob me to forget something but he killed many thing before to die because badly unlucky with saves neurotyrant with tyrant guard, good the psi-flamer but they had not the chance to do much broodlord+10 genestealer, with the scout they can reach the cac easily, sadly my enemy had a lot of flamer so few of them reached the cac and they left the grouped caracthers to 1 hp damnit.... then they are dead under the enemy reply barbgant. a rain on shoot that slow the enemy, really good 3xzoantrope, they did good but 6x units are the best way tfex with big cannon, did not much, it's enough some malus and the disruptive effect is not assured exochrine, really good anti elite haruspex, really good, he destroyed 5 terminotr in 2 phases
in general i feel that 3x squad are not much effective, where is possible it's always better to get the 6x to maximize the impact also if i like the model, neurotyrant seems not much good, better save its point for something more usefull

The only really active place I see is /r/WarhammerCompetitive, though there's a lot of drama going on with Reddit as a whole right now and long term viability of the platform. Thanks for the link. Showing my age, but I don't know how Reddit works. I checked in r/Tyranids but it was low activity and mostly about painting. I don't know about OC0 Rippers, but it seems Biovores can be interesting again (Spores) as it seems Behind Enemy Lines is still a thing. Having my first game tomorrow, bringing a monster mash: The Swarmlord 250 Old One Eye 140 3 Venomthropes 70 3 Tyrant Guards – crushing claws 95 3 Zoanthropes 90 3 Zoanthropes 90 3 Tyranid Warriors – venomcannon, barbed strangler, deathspitter 70 20 Termagants 120 Haruspex 125 Haruspex 125 Haruspex 125 2 Carnifexes – heavy venom cannon, crushing claws, bio-plasma, spine banks 250 2 Carnifexes – heavy venom cannon, crushing claws, bio-plasma, spine banks 250 Tyrannofex – rupture cannon, stinger salvoes 200 2000pts Looking at these secondary objectives from Leviathan, I consider taking out something to add a couple of Lictors. A Haruspex and 10 Termagants would do it, but leave me with a 15pt feelsbad empty space. Can't say I'm overjoyed with the Age of Sigmarized army building.

I'd drop the venoms and 10 terms I think: DL+...actually yeah, really awkward. Barbgaunts would probably be great if you have, or a bio and have 10 pts floating I guess. I don't think cover's that hard to get, and stealth is only really relevant for the zoans and maybe the terms I guess.
