Rumor Engines we still don't know.

So I skimmed through the rumor mill images that we haven't confirmed yet, there are still three that look convincingly niddy.


Could be daemons or daemonic things, but I'm leaning Nid and the Parasites' wings are not holey.


This could easily be not nid, but I wouldn't rule it out.


This HAS to be Red Terror. Seriously, it is a dead ringer for his tail.

The second one does look very much like a gaunt's middle limbs. Either Horma or terma.

I too wish to believe this, but they are not in leviathan's color. So either there will be a new poster-fleet for 10th, or it's not nids.

The first one is not a Nid. Too many holes, wing area has too many ripples. Flesheater Courts or something generally undead related, or Chaos.

Second one probably not a Nid, either. Limb cross-section is weird, and no lines on the joints. Claw form is also off. As we can see with the new Parasite model, the general design language for Nids has not changed one bit. No idea what it could be, but pretty sure it's not a Nid.

Last one is Red Terror.

What's missing are the two Lictor/Deathleaper pics.

The one thought to be Lictor turned out to be Parasite.

The wing is definitely not Nids. None of the design language is consistent with us. My bet is Flesheater Courts or whatever the Vampire Counts are called now (I don't play AoS).

The bug leg is just that, a bug. Take a look at the giant beetle that Alarielle the Everqueen rides. Looks much closer to that than a Nid. My bet is AoS again, some sort of Wood Elf.

The last one could be Nids. Maybe. Some of the design language tracks, especially the chitin. BUT, and this is a big but, that design language is somewhat shared with other models. Remember when we were sure we were getting a new Nid and it turned out to be an Ambull for Blackstone Fortress? Yeah, that could happen again.

I will grant you that the wing doesn't quite match what we currently have. The finger bones of the wing look VERY niddy, but the leathery part, not so much. Also the number of holes seems excessive. The similarities are too strong for me to outright dismiss it, but that is the least likely of the three to actually be nid.



I just wanted to call this out specifically. Look at the middle limbs of hormas. Look REAL closely.
I'm not saying that it couldn't be something else, but I'm also saying that dismissing the similarities so easily strikes me as premature.

Now look at this.


Here is our current Red Terror. That tail is REALLY distinctive. And it is a dead ringer for the one above.

We are supposed to be getting a kill team in the future with a "new" kit in it (updated model), and I could see them refreshing Horms maybe for it?

My guess is Red Terror is going to be coming.

The problem with it being The Red Terror is that the pincer on the RT is HUGE for grabbing victims and the one in the picture is tiny.

I'm not saying it isn't a Nid tail, but I'm pointing out we've been "sure" in the past and been wrong.

The chitin is off form as well - Nids are stacked in layers on tip of one another. Even the Tyrant tail plates are like this. This one is kinda laid next to each other.

Good point. I just assumed it was a mediocre FW sculpt but it could be deliberate to differentiate from Nids. Maybe a Slannesh daemon or the AoS fishpeople (Idonith?).

On a side note - the arm gives me mega slaanesh vibes. It's the little diamonds on the side, reminds me of the keeper of secrets for some reason.

I think safe to say none of them are Nids tbh.

It should be noted that these are painted models, not bare. The filter they used still shows the paint scheme they used. The winged model has a lateral stripe pattern that looks more like a khorn bloodthirster wing pattern.

The second picture of the claw has spots towards the upper part of the arm that is barely in frame. Since no tyranid color scheme has dots it become unlikely that is a tyranid. Though it could be an independent painter or a one off model for the paint inspiration part of the codex.

The third picture of the tail has nothing next to it for scale. We’re assuming it is large and therefore a red terror. What if it’s warrior sized? Or even gaunt sized?

I thought the second pictures dot might be vents like seen on gaunt heads.
