Hello Hive! My brother and I decided to start up a fun campaign together to get away from the constant rulebook missions we normally play. I put together this campaign as a fun narrative, so if mistakes or poor rules, story or anything else is written, please don't bash or tear at it. This is just for fun and I thought it would be fun to share the results and progress of our battles. We are hopefully starting the campaign this coming weekend, and I will post up the results of the first mission. I know the time line as well may not follow suit with the actual 40K lore, but it is just a fun timeline we made to make things more immersive.
One other thing! The big unique thing about this campaign is that we each get a limit of 4000 Pts for the entire campaign. Each mission uses a select amount of points, and you can choose your forces from your 4000 Pts pool. Now the thing is that if a unit dies, then they are removed from the pool permanently. Each unit will have their leader (Exarch, sergeant, etc.) named and they can earn EXP points to gain a bonus. Only the leader of the squad gains these bonuses, and it will hopefully make for a fun experience in not wasting characters who become strong and more experienced with each combat they survive!
So onto the campaign background and rules! Please all comments are appreciated, and I will also do up a post with all of the named characters and record if they died, what battle they died in, and their Combat Experience Level (Referred to as CeXP in the campaign). So I hope you enjoy reading about our campaign, and I look forward to sharing the results of each of our battles!!

The Illathor Campaign
Part 1:
“The Tendrils of Ghidra”
Background
995.M41
The arrival of Man
On the outer rim of the Modair System, lies the ancient maiden world of Illathor. Not yet
tainted by the touch of man, Illathor remains unscathed and still holds onto all of her
ancient beauty. The unnamed Craftworld Eldar who were left to protect her still loyally
remain to prevent man, ork, or any other creature from ever stepping onto her precious
soil. For thousands of years these Eldar protected and stopped any and all invaders. It was
not until the arrival of the Blood Angels and the Imperium in the 41st millennium that
Illathor finally felt the cold hard steps of man upon her earth.
995.M41
The War for Illathor
The Eldar quickly prepared to engage the invaders and repel them from their home. The
Blood Angels however were not willing to let these Xenos continue to live on this planet,
and were well prepared to face off against the Eldar. The Imperial Colonists followed
behind the Blood Angels path of destruction, as they prepared to drain the planet of her
rich resources. Ulthian, the Chief Farseer who has led Illathors people for more then four
thousand years, led the charge against the Blood Angels Captain Titherius. The war
continued on for three standard terran years.
998.M41
The Fall of Illathor
Ulthian pushed the Imperials back into their freshly risen cities and settlements. The
Blood Angels having taken heavy casualties were forced to retreat back into the ruins.
Titherius who was outraged with the colonist’s quick arrival on Illathor, quickly turned
their homes into a defense system to stop the Eldar advance. As Ulthian prepared his
forces, he started to notice that his psychic connection to the warp was starting to become
clouded. With a dark fear growing in the back of his mind, Ulthian had to push that
thought to the back of his mind until at least Illathor was back under the full control of
the Eldar.

The Illathor Campaign
Part 1:
“The Tendrils of Ghidra”
Rules
Combating Forces:
-- Eldar --
-- Tyranids --
-- The Blood Angels --
The Armies:
- Both the Tyranids and the Eldar forces get 4000 Pts each to put together a selection of
units. There is no limit of the specific units either army can include.
- However each army must include their mandatory two troops choices, and also a HQ
choice to meet the FOC chart requirements.
- For each unit entry, both forces must make a character to lead the unit. The character
must be an Exarch, Sergeant, or equivenlent unit leader. The character must be given a
name as well. If there is no unit leader for the squad (Ex. Termagaunts, Guardians, etc),
then the unit is just selected without a named character to lead it.
Characters/Units:
- When a character and their unit are selected for a battle, they enter the battle with a
chance of not returning.
- If the character and their unit are killed in battle, they are removed from the Army
Selection list. However if a character is killed but there unit remains and survives the
battle, the character is still alive for the next battle. (The unit carried them to a medic,
healer, etc.) Same for if a unit is killed and the character survives, the unit returns to full
strength always at the end of the battle.
- If a character is killed and the unit survives, the character does not gain any Combat
EXP from the battle.
- So long as a single unit of any kind survives a battle, a slain unique HQ character may
be revived, as they cannot leave their beloved commander behind.

enough Combat EXP they level up. All characters start at Level 1.

character, if their commander should perish. If the character becomes a HQ unit, another
character gets created in his place to lead the unit into combat once more. (The new
character starts a level 1.) The character becoming the HQ unit looses all Combat EXP
levels, and returns to Combat EXP Level 1, and then uses the stock profile for the HQ
type it advanced to. (Does not apply to vehicles, MCs, FMCs, and Walkers. They max out at LVL 5 and stop)
