Hi, just tested my list out against probably our clubs top player. He’s currently world number one ranked Tau player in the ITC and was using his current top list.
I took a Crusher stampede list based off the list I ran for the majority of last year, but with all the new tricks.
++ Patrol Detachment 0CP (Tyranids) [35 PL, 690pts, 9CP] ++
Army of Renown - Crusher Stampede
Hive Fleet: Leviathan
+ Stratagems +
Bounty of the Hive Fleet [-1CP]: 1 Extra Bio-artefact
Progeny of the Hive [-1CP]
+ HQ +
Malanthrope [8 PL, 150pts, -1CP]: Relic: Adaptive Neural Lobe, Stratagem: Alpha Leader-Beast, Warlord, Warlord Trait: Strategic Adaptation, Warlord Trait: Swarm Leader
Neurothrope [5 PL, 95pts]: Power: Smite, Power: Synaptic Barrier, Relic: The Void Crown
+ Troops +
Tyranid Warriors [5 PL, 78pts]: Adrenal Glands, Synaptic Link: Bioweapon Bond

Maleceptor [10 PL, 185pts]: Power: Catalyst, Power: Smite, Synaptic Link: Focal Essence

Mawloc [6 PL, 125pts]: Biostatic Rattle
Tyrannofex [9 PL, 180pts]: Acid Spray, Adrenal Glands
Tyrannofex [9 PL, 180pts]: Acid Spray, Adrenal Glands
++ Total: [103 PL, 6CP, 2,000pts] ++
I played very cagey (as I normally do) knowing that in all likelihood we’d both score highly, so I didn’t need to rush into a bad situation.
I took Warp Ritual, ROD and stranglehold. I managed 12, 12, 15, respectively, which after maxing primary gave me a 94-89 win.
Honestly my opponent made a big mistake leaving me an opportunity to get a Mawloc onto his objective leaving him only getting one objective turn 2 which cost him 4 points.
Other than that it was a really good tight game, where we both thought it could go either way until the final turns.
When you get one of our big T8 monsters sat on an objective with a 4++ and Catalyst they’re incredible. Took one wound from a full shooting phase. I did roll super well, but the potentials there.
I’ve got a good size/standard local GT this weekend so I’m super pumped to see how I get on.
