Current table sizes here to stay?

I have only been playing for 19 months so I am not very familiar with how fickle GW can be with changes. Shortly after I bought  6' x 4' game mat, GW goes and changes the rules for the board size. I am considering buying a portable table and wonder if I should save a few bucks buy buying the current size or 'play it safe' and go with the 'old' size for when GW reverts. I understand it's all speculation but I'd appreciate hearing from folks who have dealt with GW longer than this noob.

For only $10 and shipping charges I'll probably play it safe, but I'd still enjoy hearing what folks think about changes to the board size.

I think it's very unlikely they'll change size in the near future (I haven't heard any real complaints about table size, so not really any reason), and even if they do there's no reason to expect it'd just be a 'revert'.

That said, bigger=better . For a table, gives you a bit of a sideboard.

This is what we did. Having the extra space to set up your markers, books/tablet, measuring tape, dice is actually pretty sweet.

Games Workshop doesn’t switch things up too often. If you wanted to go with a right sized table to save a few bucks you should be fine for several years.

That said, you can always scale down a large table. You’ll find it much more difficult to scale up a smaller table.

they just scaled down the table sizes for the newest edition of Age of Sigmar, so it appears they are standardizing to this size across both systems. Seems like it's here for a good long while.

I'll echo that the side bar space for models, dice, books, etc is extremely convenient.

I'm happy to have a 6x4 table for this reason.

Honestly, GW stuck with 6'x4' for ages. Changing it now could mean they are more open to changes or could mean they are firmly happier with the new table sizes.
Either way, if I could get a 6'x4' for a tiny bit more than a new sized table, I'd go for it. The extra space now and the future proofing in case they decide to go back to 6'x4' some time in the future.

Plus it is nice having an extra big gaming table for other games too.

Remember it is also a 'minimum' table size reduction - there is nothing stopping you from still playing 6'x4' if you wish.

In fact I still do and all the rules / missions etc... are written in a way that they are compatible with any size above the minimum.

There's no way I'm cutting my mat up to scale it down!
