He's talking about the Bladed Cog warlord trait, single minded obsession I believe. It gives you full reroll to wound in 6" radius on 1 target noMinated at the start of the game.

Priority/WLT has been a staple since halfway through 8th. It allows you to take out something important with relatively good consistency.

Raking Fire is a +1 to hit +1 to wound do stubbers, Overcharged Weaponry is a +1 to wound for heavy mining weapons, so this allows them to have really consistent performance over 3 or 4 turns while being nontrivial to pick up.

I just heard that episode. Wow. Just flabbergasted.

But deepstrikting down 50 neophyte hybrids with mining lasers to grab objectives. With a patriarch and a magus, 20 with shotsguns with kelemorph to wrap the enemy turn 2 and 3. That sounded fun.

I have 40 neophytes with mining lasers. Now I just need *checks notes* 50 more models.

Do anybody have a copy of the list? It did not sound legal to start on the table accountig for malf army and models.

He talked about different version of the list I think. When he was using the Primus he did not use the Sactus. In one version he used a truck to deliver the melee unit. Also, I suspect that the ridgrunners are singel models to satisfy the minimum models on the table requierment. He also needs half his points on the table. That is harder, although he can use the return to the shadows stratagem.

I love that the list cna pull of Psychic Ritual with enough bodies in the way. I thought all the Warpcraft objectives where trash.

Here is a sample of what he talked about deepstriking.

2 problems.

1. it is over half the points. This can be remedied with the return to the shadows stratagem.

2. That is 8 units. You need another 8 units.

Although perhaps the magus does not deepstrike down? I do not know.

How has no one caught this? I deleted all my posts assuming I know jack (please do not swear) about GSC (being told FotHM only feasable playstyle) when both the playtesters AND the top pro's BOTH suggest something that doesn't even work. In fact the entire list is built around this illegal move, and it was even showcased at Warhammer Community Faction Focus. All of it doesn't work.

How can you place something on an objective with Lying in Wait when it has to be MORE than 3"? That means you aren't even tagging the objective, and both this list and the Tabletop's use this tactic.

SO essentially all the advice for GSC is actually illegal. Turns out the army is such dogshit that they don't even read the rules they use.

Going back to my initial assessment, Bladed Cog is still the go to, and mixing a detachment is the only way to get any of the goods, so essentially invalid points for non-min-maxers. Codex Acolytes, Neophytes and Ridgerunner. Ignore the rest if you want strong.

GSC has plenty of tools for 9th, and I would argue some of the better transports out there. Go play some games, don't be afraid.

Where does it say you can not deep strike onto them?

You measure 3" from the objective edge to control the objective, so lets say your oppontent has a unitstanding on the objective but not totally covering the whole objective marker then you can sneak in a troop unit on more than 3" away from the enemy but still controling the objective. But I agree that in the podcast he uses the wrong word (within 3).

If the enemy is on the left side of an objective you can deepstrike on the right side, more then 3" away from the enemy but within 3" of the objective.
The objective itself does not block deepstrike.

Now ofcourse if your opponent has surrounded the objective this doesn't work.

It gets better then that, because if you have objective secure (troops) you will outnumber any non troop.

I would stil like to see a sample list and se how i rrgarded the restroctions for deep striking.

I thought there was a base rule stating you couldn't deepstrike within 3" of an objective. Is that only for certain missions?

Yes. I recall a mission stating that units could not arrive from reserves within 3" of objectives. But that is not common to all missions.

Thanks! I think I've played 3 games of 9e to date. Covid is not under control where I live unfortunately, so the rules aren't second nature yet.

I have a question on the list.

Assuming the enemy is playing a competitive list, he can control the centre with very tough units, and will be able to run aggro pushers into your deployment (notably Impulsors with Bladeguard Vets) and block out the midfield. How do you drop 50-90 men onto objectives when the aggro push units take up the entire midboard?

This is literally the only thing I can't brain in his list.
