So they did in fact mostly just increase the cost of everything by roughly 10%, without taking into account any impacts of the core rules changes on the balance.

Except for gants and gaunts where they are like "yeah, we cannot increase the cost by less than 1, so we are gonna do that even though it is too much", and genestealers where they just ramp up the cost a lot because "they are very good" even though the core rule changes make them much worse.

So basically, as expected. :/

About GSC: Webber, flamer and grenade launcher at 5! (Ouch! All my webbers suddenly looks very odd indeed. I build them two months ago....)

Riderunner now at 65. (I can live with that.)

Mortal weapon teams are only 16 a piece, 48 for 3 mortals must(?) be good in the new edition.

Abberants with heavy power hammer are 37 but once with powerpicks are 32.

My Metamorphs with 2 Metamorph tallons are now 15 points. (Ouch.) But on the leak I can not find the point for the rending claw? Are they free now?

Wow I think they did a really lazy update. this will change nothing in my opinion. For the forgeworld stuff they at least tried to give some things a better chance instead of just : alright it needs a 10% increase, done.

I would be surprised if any nid list you see now will change in 9th (except just a little bit less models)

So pretty much all the units nobody ever uses get a 5~25% increase, even in cases where the new rules screw them over. But Hive Guard, who actually *benefit* from the core rule changes, barely go up at all. How strange, how strange.

If anyone can give me a good reason why the terrible Tervigon (with full equipment) goes up from 180 to 210, I would like to hear it. Being able to shoot its heavy bolter into melee is not a good reason.

You forgot the CA changes. Venomthropes are 30ppm, not 40ppm. Exocrine is 155, not 170, Hive Guards with Impaler Cannons are 43 not 48, and so on.

I find it helpful to look at the tervigon in terms of equivalent gaunts. At 190 points he was equivalent to 45 gaunts. At the new 210 points he’s equivalent to 42 gaunts. If ideally you’re spawning enough gaunts to earn his points back so he’s in the ballpark of where he was in 8th edition.
