How many Genestealers should I have on average?

What is a decent number of Genestealers to roll with in the average list? I feel like they are used quite a bit.

I have 24 currently, and was debating on getting up to 40 once I have some games under my belt.

40 is a good number of Genestealers. Most lists that have genestealers will have 2 units.

Definitely get enough fir two big units to avoid one being focus fired down. Somewhere between 32 and 40 should do.

yeah id said having at least  40 in your collection is the way to go, ive got about 60 and usually run 2 units of 20 or three of 15, if im playing kraken that is. im considering picking up more termagaunts so i can have cheaper swarms of bodies. but yes 40 stealers is a good amount. not bad to paint either.

I generally go none or all in. The last time I ran them heavily, I had 100 at 2k. Most lists for nids require a deft hand with 40 stealers and a combination of other damage sources. I tend to prefer overwhelming my opponent with one or two things and don't play ITC as much so take all of that with a grain of salt.

These almost made me stop using genestealers, but slowly I’m starting to accept that they can still be used, but to a lesser effect I suppose. There is always the possibility to ally in GSC and vect tremor shells, but you can only do it the one time...

One time is all you need with stealers.
