The hearty feast they had for Alex' birthday that night (which included more than luxries such as whiskey, pork, spinach, tomatoes and potatoes but also herbs and spices in something caled 'curry' andd this almost non heard of meat known as 'beef' with helping of cow milk-cheeses and icecreams to boot - along side more common foods such as mushrooms, spore sprouts, potatoes and rats) had then epitomizing gluttony in excess, having gone seemingly from rags to riches just by arriving here. Joseph went on about experimental farms underground at the Emerald city where they're raising pigs and cattle for consumption, although supply hadn't reached the efficiency to have the price at an affordable access for the majority of people. Alex, Yuri and Nikki let off all that had happened before that point, He gave a very interesting look at nikki when it was mentioned that the Family fortune that now Alex alone (as well as now Dimitri and Nikki) knew of. The conversation went off track everytime the baby did anything which attracted Alex' attention like a neodymium magne.
After the meal, they were absolutely stuffed and made their way up to the bed. Nikki didn't wait for Yuri, she just stripped off and fell to slumber right there and then. The night of rest was interupted several times as Katja woke up 3 times that night. That considered, it was still the best night sleep that Nikki had in a long long long time. That morning, Yuri woke up to Nikki dressed and ready to go. "Oi, wake up handsome. I'm off to the station fr a while to see if I can find out where your girlfriend and Dimitri are. You coming or not? Also, get your hand off it!"

Yuri who had already napped a bit lingered a bit enjoying the feeling of contentment, despite this, it was imperfect. He spent a good portion of the night switching between drinking vodka and rubbing his face and hands while trying to keep off the questions and feelings about Aninka that swirled.
How had he not seen something coming, who was it that had her, did she love him, did she LOVE him, why had she bedded him those years ago and never again since, did she love Yuri, was it just easy for her to leave like that, and why had Dimitri gone off for her instead of him. All and all, by the time he flopped into bed, the daemons and venom had swirled enough to leave him feel jacked up and easily enraged. ____________________ When Nikki shook him awake and spoke he let out a small groan and reached out for her hand grinning, "Is that because you're planning to get your hand on it?" He said in a drowsy and clearly hungover voice. Slowly, he got up lifting his rifle and some of the lighter things he'd carried the day previous. He yawned looking at her, "Let's go."

Diana sat down placing her hands on her head. "Ani, I do t mean to be like this I'm sorry. I'm just worried, and a little glad." She sighs taking her coat and throwing it over ani to cover her up. " please, Dimitri comes home at least three times a month, never any longer. And look at me, in my prime at the right age for mother material and the man still hasn't given. Come on ani your young got any tips?" She asks drinking from the vodka bottle now taking large gulps "I've been nice, I'm always nice, and I'm sorry you had to take my punishment. And the things they made you do, really I am." She pours ani a glass of vodka. "I'm just ugh I don't know." She takes another swig. "And look at him now, home full of bullets with you. No offense." She stood up walking back to the locker pulling out a set of clothes. Basic things shirt and pants and placed them on the desk. "Here.. For you." She slurred sitting down. Not to self never drink again Diana.
Daichis yelps of joy were the loudest noise of human in the station as he ran and jumped with glee tworeds the medical bay. Kiro hobbled after him in crutches yelling for him to quiet his head. "They say shouting someone who is injured name is bad voodoo daichi." He turned his head back twored daichi and starts the chase again yelling. The scientist smiled gathering all the data he needed for the tower and left walking out of the medical bay and tworeds D6.

The woman calling her Ani caused her to visibly stiffen so that her whole body was sharp angles of readiness. Images of Vladmir storming through doors, standing up at dinner tables, holding her in his arms, his voice shouting, whispering, and always, intensity playing on his face. But then she could also see Yuri, grabbing her arm, drinking, punching another ranger.
She looked up at Diana her eyes focusing and her face taking on the same sharp ability her body was displaying, "I prefer Aninka." She rasped out said her voice as controlled as she could keep it, which considering her last two days was fairly well controlled. The moment the coat hit the table she looked at it but didn't move. She just maintained the sharp angular pose as if waiting to pounce.
As Diana laid out her problems with Dimitri, Aninka couldn't help but feel a bit put out. She'd been walking for twelve hours, carrying a large hunk of man that was near death. She'd done it on less blood,no water, and no food. The only indication she was listening or cared was that she began to slowly pull on the offered clothing.
When she was finally dressed and tucking her pants into the boots, she drank the vodka, it burned on the way down, but it cleared out the last of the dried blood. Her eyes narrowed considerbly at the question about tips and they were slits at the mention of him coming home with her. She didn't know which one to swing at, so she decided to just be ambidexterous about it.
"I am in no way involved with that man that passes anything of a working relationship." As she said it, she could hear the lie on her lips. It was past that, she'd carried him home, she could have left him to die, he'd wanted that even. She hadn't done that, and although her angular pose didn't really soften, she did pause to consider it. Then she started again, "I do not know him." She paused, that was also a lie, she'd met a thousand like him, and she'd been involved with several, and even though it really did not settle well with her, they were alike in more ways than she cared to admit.
She looked at Diana now briefly considering her, hiding behind the strain of her voice. Diana was...pretty. Not in the drool inducing, commanding, and dominant way Aninka was, but in the soft, wifely, way that Aninka assumed most men wanted. But then looking at her full on, studying the beginning of her scar all the way up, Aninka understood the difference, it wasn't the difference between Aninka's sharp angles of body, personality, and mind and Diana's softness, it was the difference between being broken and wartorn and having well...life problems. The difference between being a spy for the reich torn between two men and being...a woman that desires a child.
So Aninka started again her voice attempting a softness she'd never used on anyone before, "I cannot understand your problems, I'll be lucky to live to your age, and luckier still to have a man who comes to me three times in a month. I cannot imagine a desire for a child, and that assumes my body could even sustain one after what I've put it through in the years since I turned sixteen." She paused trying to soften the blow, "But I understand his."
She looked at Diana, "He does not desire a child. Your problem in wishing for a husband and a life of wedded bliss, they are petty to him. That would indicate he could see his way past his next decision. I assure you, he cannot. The next battle, the next punch, the last bullet as it slams through your flesh, those are what he understands. He is wild, you wish him tame. I suggest that is your first problem."
"He does not come home, because that is not life to him." She purposefully wasn't looking at Diana, all her teachers had taught her that being leered at by blue eyes made the person feel worse, "You say you are sorry for what I went through, you cannot be. You cannot imagine it, to you it is like a distant nightmare that is as much fiction as reality." Aninka finally looked up, "Your man, if he apologized to me, would at least have glimpsed the things I have seen. And if you are anywhere near the same person to him, than it is unsurprising you two have not connected in a way that would bring forth a child."
She got to her feet wincing at the pain as she moved towards the door, "A dress isn't going to fix this one. Hard work perhaps."

Nikki waited impatiently. Joseph had already gone off on his business leaving them early in the morning, the only activity was the chores of the nanny and the house maid, who offered the two breakfast already. Nikki was coming back from the bathroom whie waiting for Yuri o get changed. She walked by the room that Alex was sleeping in, he seemed so peaceful. No flinching within the pyroxism of nightmare, no restless mumbling and pleads for mercy. She stared on for a while, regret that they were going to be off without him without even saying goodbye, but rather that than put the boy in more danger into a world were he ill fit, they would keep him from harm's way.
lost in her thoughts, she somewhat jumped when Yuri called out for her, "'Bout bloody time, I know Spore growths that move at a faster rates than you"
They made their way to the station there to the platform. The plan outlined was that they would see if they would arrive there, waiting a couple of hours maybe etting a bite to eat before venturing to Reichland to find to more actively find them. Nikki's mouth was wrestling with some jerky at the time, "So, *chew*, what happened between you and your lady friend anyways?"

Diana watched her go taking in everything that was said. Her hands gripped the bottle of vodka and chugged it, feeling the liquid burn the back of her throat on the way down. The door closed and Diana slumped over onto her desk arms fold and head on top of them as tears streamed down her face. The women cried because everything aninka said was true. How could she do anything right, she drank more and lyes back down on her desk.
The scientist looked over the data he has received and kept walking bumping into people on his way. Daichi and Kiro made there wY into the medical station to see there old friend sleeping on the examining table.

Yuri looked up startled at this having been just about to take a bite out of a loaf of bread. He took one quickly, a massive bite that allowed him to chew for a very long time. Finally, he gulped it down and took a swig of cider. With nothing else to hide behind, he finally answered. "I'm not completely certain. But I guess it turns out she's bethrothed to this Lord back in reichland, and she must have missed check in or something, because he sent a tank and soldiers to bring her back." He shruged taking a bite of bread again before continuing, "If you mean what's up with our relationship, I also can't tell you that. One week we're playing cards, getting drunk every night, staggering back to her place where she doesn't invite me in but let's me kiss her against the door, and is affectionate, the next week she's disappearing off on some hunt or other, doesn't speak to me that much, and there is no physical contact to speak of." He sighed before taking a bite of more bread.
"And when I ask her to marry me, she just flatly refuses and then usually slams a door in my face if she can." He sighed again downing more cider. ____________________________________________ Aninka could hear the woman beginning to cry as she shut the door behind her. Apparently her softness hadn't really worked. She wasn't surprised, this wasn't her field of expertise. She moved from the room slowly each and every one of her bones, muscles and foot of flesh exacting the price for what she'd put them through. She passed soldiers who she knew would not recognize her. When she made it from the place, she began the slow walk home.
When she arrived, she mostly sat in the warm shower letting water run over her sore body. It didn't really help, but it would have to be enough for now. She climbed from the shower, combing out her tangled mess of waves until it was finally correct again. She bandaged her feet again trying not to think of the man who had done this only the day before. She ate a simple meal, made of more jerky and water than she'd consumed in a long time. Feeling a bit bloated, she sank back into bed with no plan for what she would do tomorrow.

Nikki washed down the remnants of beef jerky with some shroom vodka. "So watcha tellin' me is that she has another guy she due to be chained to but she's (please do not swear) around with you?" she gave him a smirk, "You're a dipshit, there's something else going on there. She doesn't want that guy at all, she's probably doing t for money, or maybe she's from one of those snooty families and going out of honour. Maybe she's forced into or has something on her. If it's that last one, 10 GMR she's a little (please do not swear) up too."
she rested her hand on his shoulder. "Well it looks like there aren't any cars running between here and there, we're hoofing it to Reichland."

The tunnels were still locked down leading from out of polis. Dimitri opened his eyes and pushed daichi off him, "god damn, I'm asleep for one god damn moment and you all start dieing around me." He says getting up from the bed hearing a nurse tell him he should lye down. He waved his hand at her getting out of the bed and leaned up against the wall. "First thing on the list, find the girl I came in with, second find a soldier named yuri. He should have some answers." He says as he walks his way tworeds the exit. Kiro grabbed Dimitri and turned him around. "You neglect to stay home for one week with your wife, and now your dieing on her. And god damn it when we find the lost light I will force you to stay home understood.?" Kiro asked forcefully. Dimitri's response was him turning around and walking out of the clinic,
Oh the joy. The scientist would need more for his joyish experiments. Maybe there's to enter the tower. He was not sure. Diana was passed out on her desk. Kiro and daichi splited up to find the otherss. What in gods name did Dimitri want with them.

Yuri shook his head pointing at the block aid they'd reached, "Even I don't have the clearance for this. Only Aninka or another Spartan could get by this." His shoulder sagged, clearly the breakfast conversation had done nothing to make him feel any better and this way enough, "Look, Nikki, it's fine. If she wanted to be here, she'd be here. That's Ani." He held his arm out to her, "So let's go back to Joeseph's, and I'll teach the kid some hand to hand stuff he can use to protect himself." ___________________________________________________________
Aninka woke up with a groan in the middle of the day feeling a catalogue of problems. It took her a good five minutes just to sit up in bed. She ran a hand through her hair her vision still blurry from the dust dried in it. Finally rested, and mostly healthy, Aninka finally had to face the dilemma of the fact she had two choices sitting in front of her.
She didn't really know what Dimitri had done to Vladmir to get away, but if he was dead, then his position would pass to her, although they'd never been married, their engagement was on the books, well hidden, but there. And if it was there, the estate would pass to her, although she wouldn't receive the title until she married. Still, there was only one way to find out, she'd have to go see Lex. This thought brought a grimace to her face and caused her to spend five more minutes putting off getting ready.
When she did, it was not her usual attire, Lex ran the finest brothel in the town, and the only way to walk inside as a female, was as entertainment. Luckily, she'd done this before. When she was finally dressed and made up she pulled her overcoat on over it and hoofed it towards the brothel being careful not to pass anyone that might recognize her.
She reached the door and the bouncer in question looked at her as she pulled the hood of her coat down. "Lady, this ain't a place for you...it's a club for," Aninka didn't have time for this, she drew the coat apart and spoke in a sweet voice, "I'm here to see the boss, see if he can give me protection." The bouncer's eyes almost seemed dazed as he opened the door, and motioned the the guard on the inside, "Take her to Lex, he'll want to see this." The door clicked shut and Aninka turned to the gold lined, red satin palace of smoke, booze, and girls even less clad than her. The bouncer grinned holding out his hand, "Your jacket."
Aninka gave him a cold look and tossed the jacket towards him. The bouncer's grin widened as he led her through the crowd of men dallying with women about them. As she passed, heads from every direction turned towards her. Aninka knew what the right outfit could do, and this one could kill, tight black lace, pushing up, revealing, and black boots that stopped just at the edge of her thighs, more than one governor in reichland had died to this outfit.
The guard held the curtain open to her and she passed through shooting him a sweet look. Inside, the smoke and vodka was even stronger. She strode forward towards the desk where a man, not much older than herself sat looking over papers. He looked up at her as she moved, "Aninka, I've told you that you don't need to wear that in here."
Aninka grinned at him as she moved to sit on the edge of his desk, "You've told me that, but your heart never seems to be in it. And maybe I like how they stare in the minute it takes me to get here." Lex grinned sitting back from his papers, "And maybe you like how I stare too?" Aninka swung her legs around folding them neatly, "Maybe."
Lex's hands drummed against his knees, "So what do you need?" Aninka smiled at him, "A day ago, there was an attack on the estate, I need to know if Vladmir is alright." Lex smiled at her reaching out for her leg, "An attack I heard you were part of." Aninka didn't remove the hand, just leaned closer, "Maybe. Is he alright?" Lex grinned, "What is it worth to you." Aninka grabbed his hand and moved pushing his arm back behind his head and leaned towards him, "You like not having broken arm, so you'll answer." Lex smiled leaning closer to her face, "I heard he was shot once in the leg, and other than bed rest, he's back at the estate, and in a terrible mood. Even the Lady Sophi can't seem to please him." Aninka's eyes sharpened terribly and she didn't let up her grip, "And my position in the reich?"
Lex shrugged as best he could, "Was there a change? You have another year of active service, although I might not wait that long if I were you." Aninka sat back letting go of him, "Why not?" Lex rubbed his arm, "He's furious, and if he doesn't get what he wants soon, he'll start taking what he wants, and I've heard him name prices on several rangers of late." Aninka looked like she'd been slapped, her face fell slowly, "Yuri...Dimitri..." Lex stood slowly and hugged her as she began to shake, "Yes. I'm sorry Aninka."
Aninka buried her face into his chest as he patted her waves. "Aninka..how come you refused me?" Aninka pulled back away from him, "Lex. You know why." Lex smiled at her his hands sliding to hold her's, "Because I was with another woman once. You'd been gone Aninka, you'd been gone and you hadn't come back for six months." Aninka let go of his hands and turned walking for the door, "It didn't mean I didn't still want you." Lex smiled sitting back down as she left, another failure, from another story, from another time.
Aninka strode back out through the men, calls and prices passing through her until she reached the door, took her jacket, pulled it on, "Your boss wasn't interested this time," was all she said as she left, heading back for her apartment to change again. Now, she just had to find Yuri, and accept the break up, and punch she deserved from him.

Nikki sighed in frustration, obviously she had gotten used to Alex' knowledge in how to get from A to B. "Bloody hell, maybe I should start learning" she said uner her breath just unheard by Yuri. "Okay, let's find one of those service panels and break into them and pop out on the other side of the blockade, simple right?." She said.
While looking in the area around the platform for such a place they found a familiar face walking out of the local hospital. Nikki hesitated, it may not be him, but what was there to lose? "Dimitri? (please do not swear) Dimititri, over here!" She walked over to the man beyond any possibility of being ignored. "oi, you ignorant little (please do not swear). How 'ave you been? Where are the others? Why they hell is this place clogged up like a fish's arse hole?"

Dimitri held his right side as he looked at Nikki. "Hey Nikki, did the kid make it ok. And the situation here. No one in or out unless there a spartan or being escorted out. You need top signatures from miller." He says looking around. "By any chance have you seen aninka. I wanted to bring you all even the twerps Alex and the hooded masked guy to meet my wife," he smiled it was good to see his friend the *crow caw*. Ok a well respected *crow caw* for the upper class. He placed his hand on her shoulder and gave her a hug. "It's good to see a friendly face." He says
Kiro hobbled up to a desk and asked for a name and a place. From there he made his way to that place . The streets of polis were nice, children playing and he smiled passing by a man playing the guitar, Kiro donated a bullet to the man playing and made his way to the location. Good thing with people he knew in intelligence he always knew where people lived. The apartment door to a one aninka. The spy. The lost light. The child that needed saving. Kiro's fist came to the door in a knocking manner. As a laser came behind him hitting the door, daichi didn't like her and would shoot if she drew. But they didn't know if she was there or not. She could be on her way to reich land

Yuri followed closely behind Nikki not particulary adressing Dimitri, he was still mulling over the strange connection between the two, and anyway, he hadn't been addressed. So he just stood a bit off watching them. __________________________________
Aninka had just arrived home and managed to peel off her jacket when the knock came. She briefly tried to imagine who it would be, and she could only imagine that it would be Dimitri. This led her to the consideration of her current outfit, weighing the negatives of answering the door, she found herself pulling the door open intent on putting him on the defensive. "Well it's good to see you managed to get out of one bed today," Then her eyes fell on the laser, and the two men at her door. While she hadn't planned on Kiro or Daichi, she was at heart someone who could adapt plans on the go, and in this case that meant pushing the door open wide and leaning against the side of the door frame and running a hand down her side.
"Well hello boys, must be my lucky day." She used her hand to motion at her outfit with a flourish, the tight black lace that ran around her chest, down her stomach, and paused in a one piece just above her thighs only to end in some very strappy looking black thigh high boots. "I'm glad you caught me at my best, but I'm not open for business lets see...ever." Her blue eyes did not betray how much she didn't want to speak to these two men.
So instead she looked up at Daichi and his hovering gun, "I've seen bigger, but I can still handle that." She winked at him before turning her attention to Kiro, "Forgive me if I don't invite you inside, but usually when somebody is imposing on me with force, I don't like to let them see how I live." She stepped out into the hallway pocketing a knife from the side wall as she closed the door behind her.
"What can I do for you two? Not enough reich killed in the last few days? Are you hear to convince me of the error of my ways." She grinned,"Do I need a little saving." She giggled lightly, "Instead of convincing me of my need for change, why don't you go play counselor to Dimitri and his bonnie lass." She directed her next comment at Daichi who still held his gun up, "Maybe he can teach them a thing or two about handling small weapons."
She studied her fingernails with theatrical boredom, "Or perhaps, you're hear to accuse me of being reich..." She grinned, "But I think you'll find that a hard case to make. Now, I've been out of work for several days, and I have a rather unpleasant conversation to have, with a man that doesn't hold alcohol very well, so if you could take your little gun and leave I would be greatful."
