Apocalypse Formations are on the Website

With the release of Apocalypse for pre-order today, I was snooping on GW's site and found 5 Apocalypse Formations as 1-click buys.

Screamer Killer Brood
Endless Swarm
Living Fortress
Subterranean Swarm
Vanguard Infestation

Each one has a collection of models that satisfies a Formation from Apocalypse. Is this a glimpse into what's hidden in the new book? I don't know!

So it seems that all the one click collections don't offer any kind of deal or savings, it's just the same prices as if you bought the models individually. Is this normally the case for GW? What do they have against sales?

You being generous. Should only be a few seconds of savings. So since time is money, and you not really saving any time, this is really shoddy GW practice for people who don't know. It's really, a sucker is born every minute, that GW is relying on. More of the rich parents who have money out of the yin yang who don't know any better to buy it for their kids.

Since I never gotten the first Apocalypse book. What the hell are formations? Do we really need them to play Apocalypse?

To my understanding, formations give you a certain bonus when you use the specific models within a formation. I don't know any off the top of my head, but if I remember right thats what they did before.

Well considering that stupid "Hive Fleet Eurminids" (you're my Nids,) for those who didn't catch that weak name attempt, saved about 0$ too and that was over $1000. They don't put things on sale, it really just tailors for lazyness.

Or if they do save a little (like the odd battle force,) then the "free" unit you get is Genestealers, Kroot or the likes. Units that are semi useless and they are just trying to clean out stock.

Finally if you have seen any of the bat reps, these guys clearly don't play the game that much. The list matchups are atrocious, and they field horrendous amounts of subpar stuff. I remember long ago reading one with Flash Gitz, it was then I realized that they really don't play. If you see them smack the player and ask how their pyrovore is.

Speaking of one click deals, it looks like it costs $30 more now. Someone on DakkaDakka checked out one of the deals, and it costed $30 more than buying individually now.

Shame on GW. Instead of people thinking they are saving money, they are actually paying more to save a few seconds of clicking.

An example of formation extra rules would be the subterranean swarm. If you take 1-3 trygons and 1-3 ravener broods then pay the extra 50 points. You deepstrike the 2 together and the raveners can assault out of deepstrike. Not sure the new minimums on that formation but last book it was 1 of each.

I think I remember the one that was more expensive. It came from what it would cost to put together that army with the battleforce whereas the price GW was charging was not using the battleforce. And that is where the price discrepancy came in.

Knock off 5%, 2% even! If someone (not me) buying 3 £50 riptides make it £145. Otherwise I'll just add 3 to my basket. I think the big armies are for fluff purposes only. Why would you want to spend all that cash on a load of tactical marines. Get a bit of variety.
GW do 2 great box sets in terms of value- dark vengeance and the mega force sets they release at Xmas.
Even though they have dud units, there is variety, and there is value.

Did anyone else notice that Living Fortress allows Hive Guard now?
If I'm not mistaken the old Apocalypse rules had this as Hive Tyrants and Tyrant Guard only.
