question about dread knight

a person i have gamed with was telling me if a nemesis dreadknight takes the nemesis force sword (which i believe is ap3) would become become ap2 because it is on a MC.

is this true or would it still use the weapons profile?

I believe it says all attacks from an mc are ap 2 because of the smash rule as well.as being able to make a smash attack so i believe they are ap 2

As well cause of the new edition the dread knight would still get the extra attack for two weapons and cause of the faq its str 10 from the nemesis doom fist so 4 str 10 ap 2 rerolls to hit and wound force weapon attacks

Yeah, it's in the Smash Rule. Even if an MC has a weapon with a worse AP, it still resolves its Attacks at AP2.

Oh, almost forgot, the Dreadknight actually gets a Nemesis Greatsword, which is different from the Nemesis Force Sword. Gives him re-rolls and stuff.

Yeah, the new edition really gave you another reason to take the Sword on the DK. It packs a wallop.

Worst? Not really, bog it down it in gants with poison, it only has like 3 attacks. It's annoying because of the FAQ to be able to use doomfist and sword at the same time, A unit of paladins, while not as bad as it used to be is still worse than a dreadknight, it's only I4.

I am chuckling at the idea of using enfeeble on it and smashing it to instant kill it.

In 5th with the GK spam that was going on, I ran a couple Broodlord squads to hunt for Dreadknights. Having Implant attack and Rending claws was generally enough that DKs avoided me as much as possible.

Best way to deal with it is 60 devourer shots OR assaulting it with termagants that benefit from a Tervigon's TS.

I did go after it once with 20 Hormies that had AG/TS and it dies the first round of combat ;-)

i had one multi assault a zoan and a group of hive guards and the hive guards some how manged to take it down, the GK was pretty upset lol

True, but snowdaman did specify worst nightmare to MCs, which is probably true; it's swinging before (or simultaneously) with everything which isn't a Tyrant and has a force weapon in case it's re-rollable S10 attacks aren't enough. Plus you will normally see them with Teleporters so they can dictate where they charge, making full-circle gant screens especially important, although of course with an Incinerator they can just blast a hole in the sceen and charge through that.

So, uh, try not to let them do that, hitting them with Gargoyles will probably down them pretty quickly, or the good old stand-by of gants. As soon as it's bogged down with masses of little guys the threat is stopped, but it's doing that before it can cause any real damage which causes the issues.

True, but its force weapon doesn't go off automatically (plus SiTW), and we also have the defense of biomancy aswell. So really its worst against trygons, which is why I think the unit of paladins is still the worst for our MCs (atleast depending on size); with their grenades and huge amounts of automatic force weapons

That is not legal. A single model unit cannot legally multi-assault. Not in 6E nor in 5E. (Could in 4th IIRC)

Not legal either. If it shoots at the gaunts, then it can't assault the model inside.

OTOH, if they can get close enough to hit the TMC inside, then it might be able to fry enough of the gaunts in the way to make a path...

Roxor08, you must get some lucky rolls or AP2 Devourers: 60 shots is 30 hits, 5 saves, 1 wound... As long as the NDK doesn't wander off, fight back, and has the courtesy to let you stay in synapse, it should only take you four rounds to kill him..!

Yes, that was what I was referrring to. As a torrent weapon it's easy enough to arrange the Heavy Incinerator to hit 3-4 of the lines up gants in a screen whislt still clipping the MC as your 'primary' target, so you can then charge it if you kill enough gants.
