Tervi in 750, WL or Troop?

So in games at 1k and below do you guys think it's better to have a Tervigon as Warlord to make a harder slay the warlord point, or a troop for objectives? If anyone is really curious my current 750 list is (off the top of my head).

18 Termagants
11 Devgants
Tervigon Cat, Ons, TS

The Prime with warriors is hard enough to slay. I would run her as a troop and have the warrior prime hang back with the guard. use the tervigon as an offensive troop and the spawned for other objectives.

If you have an HQ, there is near no reason to take the Tervigon as an HQ unless you want 6 troops as well.

consider: warlords are high priority targets. My personal belief is to make the tervigon a low priority target. By doing so it increases its value later game, because the firepower was expended elsewhere (I usually run trygons for this exact reason. Even if they kill no models all game, they still soaked up fire)

In every mission, slay the warlord does exist, so... while slay the warlord may be harder to achieve (though, its much harder on a hive tyrant with a shell or one that is swooping/ in reserves and similarly so with a prime in a unit of hive guard or large brood or gants) it becomes a potential point for the opponent, and they have more reason to kill it. Usually, tervigons follow the logic "lets let future me deal with that" because there are more pressing issues early game. this tends to leave them unhindered and allow them to create sort of an advantage on the table the opponent cant deal with.

So, my opinion is to keep it as a troop whenever possible. Just know that it isnt actually that bad to make it an HQ, since it spawns scoring units it is always, in its own way, a scoring unit (and personal warlord traits only add to that giving it a chance to be even moreso)

For a 1k game I field 2 Tervigons (1 as Warlord 1 as troop), 2x2 Hive Guards, 1 Termagant brood and 2 harpies with venom cannons (or replace those for AGs on the Tervis). I charge both Tervis up (the gants screening the troop Tervi providing cover for the Warlord Tervi, who in turn provides cover for my HGs) while my Harpies soften up or even assault the nastier threats (plasmas, meltas, then MLs in that order) The fun thing about Nids is that they're one of the few armies that can field that many MCs for 1k or less.

Edit: Remaining salient to your 750 point game question - Tervi as troop definitely. You can march it with impunity up the board while the Nid Prime stays safely behind it, attached to a group of HGs for their T6 majority rolls and taking cover saves from the Tervi.

I'd actually only move the Nid Prime into the Warrior brood on the turn I intend to charge them into combat (I'm assuming RCs = Rending Claws?) - until then, leave him with the HGs and use the Warriors to cover at least one flank.

That's what I'm using at 750 currently (749 points). I keep the Prime with the hive guard, obviously. Gargoyles are a large, fast, pressuring unit, screening and clearing the way for the wrecking ball to tear through in their wake.

I like to run 2 Tervigons in games 1k and under. The sheer amount of troops they make swings the battle in your favor. That being said you might just run them as HQs...
