I have hundreds of tyranids. I just wanted to showcase some of them in this post. Hope you enjoy!
My Hive Fleet is very tiny; it is one of the smallest splinter fleets known to the imperium. Their entire purpose is to protect, transport and influence the genestealer initiative, hence, hive fleet cult guard. They capture and return genestealer cult idols from barren worlds or the control of those looking to stamp out the genestealer infestation such as eldar or the imperium. The golden idols are also prized among several other civilizations all seeing a different value in them. Some keep them as loot, others will deploy the idols covertly to have the hive fleet weaken the defense of an enemy's planet.
I have 5 golden tyranid idols that are beaming with psychic energy. My opponents and I use them as our objective markers. Some of them are made from 1st and 2nd edition tyranids and WD special realeases; which makes them seem like they have been around a while since my splinter hive fleet is all modern models and have evolved past those ancient tyranid forms.
Since the splinter hive fleet is sometimes stretched a bit thin several tervigons are employed to bolster number s when necessary. Mine are custom , made from spare fex bits and a xmas ornament. I currently have 4 built.
I use the Doom alot. My Doom is made of 1st and 2nd edition tyranid parts giving him an ancient look.
My Tyranid Prime is made from the body of a 3rd edition warrior with a modern head, shoulder blades, and deathspitter. Again, I really like using old bits and new bits for custom models.
And the last thing I wanted to showcase was the very common megablox mycetic spore converion. I used my simple paint job that matches the splinter hive fleet and added a skaven tail for the whip tendral thing(s).
I run 4 flyrants when I can... they are so great...
Hope you enjoyed...
