FAQ list to send to GW...Thoughts anyone??

Recently I had a rules question about 5th edition and I called up to get clarification from GW... we all know how that played out (conflicting results from people who probably don't know anyway) but in the process they said that I needed to send all of my questions to the FAQ people at GW headquarters as that's the only way to get them submitted.

[e-mail] is the email I was told to send my questions too.

What I want to know is:

Would it make sense for us to put together a list of Tyranid specific questions (Short term sticky) and even game specific questions to submit to either the LGS that we feel might pass them on to the right people or we could create a wave of emails/submissions that could possibly influence what questions that we want and need answered.

How can they answer the questions if they don't know what is being asked? Who here is already asking the questions that are being debated/discussed/house ruled on TTH and submitting them to GW for review? Do we just hope that the questions that we have are the ones that are being answered?

TL;DR... Do you want to put together a list of common Tyranid Hive questions to either submit as a list once or have everyone here submit it individually to the Customer Service department at GW?

We did this more than once, both times the tread ended, BUT we have never submitted them to official FAQ's, so it might cause more modivation for people to participate.

Absolutely. It doesn't hurt to at least try.

We need to know if you need to roll to hit the target point on beam witchfire attacks.
We need for the official FAQ to reflect the actual intent of tyranids' interactions with gun emplacements (as opposed to emplaced weapons which we definitely can't use.

An official statement one way or the other on marker lights downing flying monstrous creatures might at least drive home how absurd the rule is

Maybe a question about Broodlords rolling for powers that require ballistic skill to use.

a ruling on psyker powers being used in overwatch would be nice.

An official statement on how exactly to play bone swords in 6th.


I'm sure there are other rules that have been hotly debated. What else do we have?

Info: the description under bones words says they ignore armor, not that they Are power weapons. Why would we need such a statement to clarify that?

That's like asking how to play IB feed now that it has no downside...

The reason why is to quickly defuse arguments. That is why a lot of things that are in the FAQ are there. Frequently they will be things that are fairly clear in the rules, but that rub some people the wrong way and it slows down games. If you can just point to the FAQ ruling, argument over.

Also it might have been a genuine oversight.

Wound overflow in Challenges

I think this is a great idea. Lets be brief with our suggestions and not go on tangents so it'll be easy to compile in a presentable manner.

Should compile a list of questions and submit them soon. An official FAQ is expected out in August sometime? Would be nice to have many of the items we have brought up addressed in that.

Good idea. You get to formulate these into sensible questions, so I'll just pull them out of my butt for now.

Do Maledictions / Blessings such as Enfeeble stack with itself? What we need is a clarification for the wording on p.68. "...different maledictions are always cumulative..." Does this mean that
a) maledicions cast by different Psykers count as "different", or
b) a unit can only be affected by certain malediction only once?

Mycetic Spores: Transport Spore - Is it intentional that you can only disembark within 2" of the spore, as the new standard for Disembarking would be 6"? Compare to Drop Pods.

As per the rules for FMc's, when you are Hit, you must take a Grounded Test. Does this mean you have to take the test against hits from friendly units, such as Cataclysm, which is a psychic shooting attack? (From coredump's trickery thread)

A Tyranid model is always considered to benefit from the effects of its close-combat weapons. Does this mean that a model armed with a Bonesword will benefit from it's effect when it makes a Hammer of Wrath attack? Can a model with BS0 still be force to "Snap fire" at BS 1.

That's one I want to know.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one... Or more generally, should models with BS 0 or "-" roll again when choosing psychic powers since it is clear they can't use most of the Witchfires that require a roll to hit.

Onslaught; is it an oversight not changing it to allow charges instead of assaults?

Can we get a 'errata' on 'acute senses' for raveners?

This is more just a typo type thing...but it gets me everytime I notice that they have a rule that has absolutely nothing to do with them. At least in 5th it could be used in 1/100 games (nightfighting with DS raveners with thorax dev lol).

Either that....or GW will floor us and say "No, raveners have acute senses. They can outflank now."

A significant question is whether Flying MCs lose the Hard-to-Hit tule when grounded or not, rules as written says they do not, but that could be an oversight?

My question: If a tyrant guard with lash whip move into base to base contact with an enemy character and I then use my tyrant to issue a challenge which he accepts, is that enemies int at 1 due to having been base to base with a lash whip tyrant guard for the remainder of the turn?
