Some new 6th rumours, how would they effect us?

Unless I'm reading/comprehending this wrong, it really sucks for us: It sounds like you will not be able to clear out engaged models with your own higher initiative models. You will make your attacks, kill models, and then new ones will pile in at their Initiative step.

Yeah it sort of sounds like once you clear out everything within two inches you just stand around and wait to be attacked by what is left if I am reading it right.

Whoa, kind of looks like units benefiting from a Venomthrope's Spore Cloud will have a 4+ cover save if they are within 8" of the unit targeting them.

The problem is the Broodlord is BS0, so can't use any of those witchfire powers, since he can't hit. Unless someone can find all witchfires auto hit now unlike psychic shooting attacks?
This means that between our 3 lores, half or more powers can't be used by the Broodlord since he is mastery 1 too.
I'm still going with Broodlord spam and biomancy Flyrant though I think. The good thing is, I can switch up warlord, traits, powers depending on the opponent.

The thing is we can psychic spam but we still do it worst than the marines. Since marines have mostly psychic level 2 or more while our best unit is mastery level 2 and its the swarm lord which got nerfed into being unusable.
Deny the witch is at best a 5+ for us but all our powers will get denyed the witched against in a 4+ with marines probably going to spam out on librarians and rune priest or grey Knight characters.

Please warishov stop making generalizations like 'nerfed into being unusable'. It is not constructive or even useful information because we don't know all the rules yet, and we don't have the FAQ yet.

So yeah, the Broodlord is screwed in that regard. The only template Witchfire we have access to is Warp Charge 2, so he can't even cast it. I guess that's a risk of giving him Biomancy; if he rolls Life Leech he will have to take it or exchange it for the signature Smite, but he can't actually hit with either of them.

It is not constructive or even useful information because we don't know all the rules yet, and we don't have the FAQ yet. I would go so far as to say that the Swarmlord is not nerfed at all. He is an MC, so he has Smash, so his attacks are AP2, regardless of the Bone Sabres.

Our big nids wont have to actually USE smash to get the AP2, will they?

No monstrous creatures are always AP2.

I am referring to the swarmlord's swarm leader ability.
Acute senses, furious charge and preferred enemy don't work as they are meant to. (Adding initiative to strike before marines, synergies with ymgarls and termagants etc.) These powers have taken a big hit.
The swarmlord does not need to be any better at close combat. That is not the problem.
It is just that he is not any more survivable and if anything less survivable with 5+ cover. Attaining cover for swarmlord is not the problem with tyrant guard as before.
Remember an at least 340 point unit must be versatile and offer multiple helps to the army to be worth its points. It must also support the army by buffing or offering syngeries too. Just giving it an extra ap- attack isn't really helping when his support role has diminished.
We have most of the tyranid USR in our hand. Confirmed. As it stands non-faq'd he has been nerfed. I am not generalising. Every idea needs a black hat (thinking about the negatives).
I love the swarmlord just like the next guy but as it stands he has taken a hit. As he stands he is worst than a normal death star tyrant.
I know this post is a bit pointless for me to write and I will stop saying bad stuff but I am not trying to generalize.

Swarm lord now grants re-rolls to hit in shooting as well. That is a huge buff if you bubble him with say a tyrannofex and hive guard. He is faster than ever before. Good chance he won't even be touched turn one with night fighting. Can swap powers for a host of usable ones (like +d3 T and ATTACKS holy smokes brutal, with preferred enemy) His mastery will no doubt be 2 so there is the option of taking 2 new powers. With a couple of tyrant guard he is meaner than ever with his powers. Sure this means we cut down on troops. Take a swarm lord and some trygons and there is no way the enemy will be able to kill everything. Oh and that hammer of wrath attack at int10? Yes please AFTER challenging an opponent!
Hahaha OHH cool character...dual? Ok INT10! Oh crud I rolled a 1 to wound you (because there is almost nothing he doesn't need a 2+ to wound) REROLL for preferred enemy! Cool invul bro, re roll it. DIE.
Yeah that is exactly how I want it to go

Sadly, the swarmlord doesn't give a PE bubble, just one unit.

Er.. Hammer of Wrath (the I10 attack) is AP-. Also it doesn't say it comes with any other bonuses from your model (like instadeath). Good luck hurting anything with that, it's only a significant buff for Gargoyles. And as mentioned, Swarmlord doesn't get a PE bubble.
MC's have AP2 as a passive ability, they don't need to half their attacks and double their strenght to get AP2.
Here are the psychic powers in a neat list (noo...)
The Disciplines should be measured from the worth of the Primaris Powers, because those are the only ones that aren't completely random (and thus not possible to form a tactic around when building your army list). Also remember that the 'Blessing' powers are better than the others in the sense that they cannot be countered by 'Deny the Witch'.
Unlike spells in WFB, Psychic Powers are generated before deployment (you dont have chose powers when making your army list) in every game, so you can chose between Disciplines to better fight the opposing army.
However, I expect the FAQ this weekend to state that our lower Psykers like Broodlords can only use their own set of powers (Hypnotic Gaze and such) and only our more significant Psykers (the MC Psykers) will be able to chose between their codex powers or random rolls on Biomancy, Telekinesis or Telepathy. Of course I could be wrong, the Broodlord could maybe still use the Primaris Powers from Telekinesis and Telepathy as they both autohit, but I think we can rule out that the Broodlord will be able to use Biomancy as he has BS0 as mentioned and thus cannot use the Primaris Power.
One thing that doesn't seem to be mentioned is that a penetrating hit on a vehicle in combat now counts as 2 wounds for the purpose of calculating combat result. A slight buff when fighting against Walkers, as it lessens the chance of losing combat. One thing about Walkers - you can no longer swamp for instance a Psydread with a bunch of Termagants to prevent it from shooting. If you cannot hurt a unit, you cannot charge it either (even if you can chose to autobreak from a combat were you were charged by a unit you can't hurt). Also an immobilized Walker is hit on its rear armour in combat, but this is maybe the same as in 5th ed, can't remember.

Immobilized walkers are still front armor in 5th ed, they just get hit easier by grenades.
I am still wanting to hear if infiltrate has changed. I don't run a null deploy list so I am wondering if my broods of stealers will get anything to make up for the nerf to outflanking assaulters and the change to fleet.
