Some new 6th rumours, how would they effect us?

Regarding "Breaking the Bonds of FOC" my response is... ok great, where do I get the points to care? The 5th ed codex is so frickin expensive I have a hard time utulizing the FOC I have now. My lists tend to have a couple of standard troop setups (depending on my goals), then I have to pick 1, maybe 2 other FOC slots to focus on; ie do I go elite heavy, fast attack heavy, heavy... heavy, etc. Unless I'm playing a 2500-3000 pt game (which I don't) I don't see how this matters a whole lot unless someone wants to go hive guard spamming (have fun synapse babysitting that).

Well What I would do is cut points... One small unit of gargs costs almost nothing, 6 small squads of genes 3 zoans, one for each elite slot...AND 6 TRYGONS!! YEAHHHEAHH

The cap on S10 will almost certainly stay for MC smash. S20 carnifexes just don't work (autopen any vehicle, auto mush any unit... I think not).
As for the FOC thing, I'm not so sure. What's the point of a FOC at anything less than like 4kpts if you can just take another for another HQ + 2 troops and get another set of HS/FA/E slots? Seems a bit pointless really, they may as well just say take what you like plus an HQ or two and 2-4 troops.
What I really want to know is, have they fixed fearless in assaults. Can my MCs still die because my enemy multi-assaulted a unit of gaunts and spent the whole assault phase ripping them to shreds? Because that was LAME. Just getting really sick of taking my MCs off the board because some gaunts died in the same combat. That's just wrong.

Then what is the point of the smash? Word is they are removing the str+2d6. How are we suppose to pen a land raider with a trygon if it is just str6?

I doubt the the max 10 loft will be removed. Things could work if they gave the player a choice between normal S + 2D6 or double S + D6.

I also hear they will be fixing up the WS to hit table, which my genestealers will love, but with that and the removal of S+2D6 they might as well just stop selling fexes. Poor Old One Eye will be a forgotten relic.

Then add 1HQ and 1Troops from an ally (which can be your own army). Then you can take 1 Slot (Elite, Fast Attack, Heavy Support - not sure about troops and HQ though) from that ally as well. So that's 3 Primes 4 Tyrannofexes or 12 Zoanthropes/Hive Guards/lictors or 12 Carnifex's to name but a few (perhaps not the most efficient ones) but what I am looking forward to: 12 Pyrovores. Setting terrain on fire? snap shot? Maybe those little fellas will be useful after all! What I am also curious about is how the rippers/Venomthropes-combination with work now...

lol 12 fexs would only be reasonable if fex's were affordable to field. To many points...

lol 12 fexs would only be reasonable if fex's were affordable to field. To many points... It will be interesting to see if stomp, smash and impact make fexes more cost effective. Not sure if those rules will make up for the fex being 40 points over priced. Everyone always says you cannot compare from codex to codex but tomb spiders will most likely also get stomp, smash and impact hits as MCs and look at their cost. I think the fex will have to wait for a new codex unless they surprise us with a huge errata overhaul. Old One Eye for about the same price as Mephiston still boggles my mind.

Where are people getting the rumor that they're taking 2D6 away from MC pen rolls??? Or is that just a guess based on smash?
EDIT:
Because if it is a guess, it's a truly terrible guess; especially if it's based on the equally bad guess that you can double your strength past 10 (like I said, S18/20 fex attacks is silly). I think that the option for a Tyrant to either attack 4x at s6 or 2x at s10 is a reasonable proposition. Anything else is silly; 4x attacks at s6 + 1d6 is just a flat out nerf, and attacking at s12 + d6 is goofy (because that mean Fex is at s18+1d6), and s10+1d6 is basically going sideways in damage potential at fewer attacks and thus not an upgrade for MC's.

it's just a guess, it's not stated or even implied in any of the rule/bullets from the WD or any of the rumors that i've seen at least. if i'm wrong someone please source it.

but what I am looking forward to: 12 Pyrovores. Setting terrain on fire? snap shot? Maybe those little fellas will be useful after all! From the most recent rumours it looks like vehicles and template weapons are not included in snapshot. Pre-ordered my rulebook, vehicle dice and psychic cards yesterday from Wayland Games (if you are in the UK). Pretty reasonable - it all came to about £50 and another £5 for a courier (they are shipping them to customers the day their stock arrives). I'm really hoping these "Stomp" attacks (not the double S ones) are the same ones that BoW alluded to: if your MC makes a Stomp attack every enemy in the combat takes a wound on a 4+ (saves allowed). That would be priceless after I recently had I strongly disagree handed to me at a tournament because I took Nidzilla and faced off against Ork and IG foot-hordes....
