Everybody wants the big stuff. :[ I'd rather have some zoanthropes, rippers or genestealers. It's more practical anyways, you're more likely to need to test out colour schemes on the bulk of your army.

You test them on those because they don't cost $45 dollars. Who here wouldn't test on a Hive Tyrant if they had any to spare?

not just that, but stealers and rippers are more likely to be in higher numbers than bigger things, so if you just test it on tyrants, Then you might not know how your colour schemes looken masse. I'd rather have the bulk of my army looking good than something that I will be taking a lot of care on already.

This is a very close approximation of my own army:

Hive Tyrant wins. I will try to finish this tonight after I get home from work. Next poll I will include a list of the apoc beasties. In fact I do not own any of these Apoc creatures and any help posting their names would be great. Malanthrope? Harridan? Question for admins. How do I get rid of the poll? Damn probably should have thought this through before I posted it first. Might start a new thread for the next update. Peace Tomas

You can't. I've locked it so no one else can vote, but if you want to start a new poll you'll have to start a new thread for it.

BIG UPDATE!!!!
So I found a much better color picker for use with the tyranid painter. *No downward interferance as the colors do not overlap any buttons. *A side slider for keeping the right color just changing the amount of white or black. *And hopefully if it works which I think it does the ability to save color swatches for use later, or at least until I update the file again.
Meh, back to work on the hive tyrant.
Please let me know if this works better, seems to be way better than the last one.

thank god you exist, also, I'm glad you chose to do the stealers and zoanthropes etc first, rather than Apoc stuff.

So I think the color picker swatches stays saved even through updates as I just added a new feature of prestored color schemes. I started with mine since I know it, which actually looks kind of boring when viewed through the painter, meh, I like it.
Patiently waiting for some brave humans to record what the major hive fleets look like.
I might have some cake lying around here if Salamut didnt eat it all for the lovely people who bring me the colors to the hive fleets.
Still might do the apoc stuff first if it wins the poll, will probably just paint the zoanthrope early though, fixing the color picker was quicker than I thought so will have some extra time.
Peace Tomas

"help posting their names" Some Apocalypse beasties: Trygon(big ravener), Malanthrope(cross between lictor and zoanthrope),Harridan(big gargoyle), Hierodule(looks a bit like a fex crossed with a hamster) and finally the Hierophant, with is basically a 2 legged spider with 2 Huge cannons

So in my perpetual obsessive-compulsive state after I updated the color picker but before I started on the hive tyrant I got a wild hair and decided to redo the entire interface to look like an inquisitors tabletop. Still very much a work in progress, will add all kinds of eye candy and make it really authentic. I constructed a data slate, field guide and a few other things. I am using the outside of the map from the dark heresy for now until I design my own, just wanted to see what it would look like. After I finish with the deisgn aspect I will be transferring all the code, which I have been wanting to do since learning some new things. When I first started this on a whim I really didnt know what I was doing and have learned a lot. First version: Latest version:

Unfortunatly Trygon will be one of the last models I draw in. I definatly want to get one going though as I am curious how my scheme will look on it.
So good news, I have been attempting to figure out a random color scheme option and I just did, I hope. So please test out the painter and click the probability algorithm button to try a random color scheme, I am curious if this works for other people.
Peace Tomas
