EVENT: HFE You send your scouts out immediately, into the night. Unfortunatley your team splits into two and you lose half of the squad. The other half come across the meteorite, and by the light of their torches notice that in places it is crumbling in places, enough to take pieces off by hand. You take off a piece and find the core is composed of a metal unfamiliar to you. scans of the core show that it is much different to expectations, and seems to have an interesting shape. After careful analysis, you conclude that there must be a vehicle of sorts inside this metoerite, though how it got there is anyone's guess. After your team strips off some of the rock, they find what appears to be a door with a strange writing upon it. Next to this door is a keypad, with different symbols as buttons. You decide there are two options:
Either you send a small group back to base to retrieve a research team to decipher the language, taking time and risking attack, or you just press any of the keys and see what happens, risking who knows what.
What do you do?

So, this means I have 25 raptors and 50 Spec. Ops, right?
The raptors will leave to pick up the research team (they can operate the raptors, probably because they designed them) while the Spec Ops find any cover they can, and hide behind it.

your raptors leave the temporary camp and return to the base. Meanwhile, your spec. ops take position around the meteorite/space vehicle.
At around midday your spec. ops begin to hear noises, they sound to be someone talking. After a few minutes, the sillouettes of a small group of... things appear in the distance. After a small look aroound you think you can easily sneak round them and take them out before they reach you, but you wonder if they know something that you don't.
It is too late to call back your raptors, and mcu too late to call for reinforcements from the base. What do you do?
ANNOUNCEMENT: THE FRANCHISE WARS MAP. As interest has been shown in producing a map to use for the planet, and i believe that this would be a nice idea. If anyone would like to draw up a map, PM me a drawing of the map and/or a link to see the map which I can use to post on this thread when all entries are in. When this happens, I will open up a poll where each player can vote for the map that they think looks the best. If descriptions of each HQ are required, then the map-drawer may PM the other contestants asking them for details on positioning. The maps do not have to show detailed plans of the HQs/bases, and must be inventive to a point (e.g. include more areas than the given ones).

The master chief is the only remaining super human from the SPARTAN project. He wears a incredibly resistant army that also uses a energy shield similar to the ones used by us. He is capable of using amy vehicle or weapon supplied to him but prefers energy swords and assault rifles.
I already have sent out a group of 50 elites and 2 hunters who will meet Blitz and the rest of your men at near my base to discover what has "landed" on the planet.

Your Spec. Ops stay in cover, waiting for the unidentified units to come closer. Eventually they move out of the sun and you see that they are the men you lost when you first left. They are in pretty bad shape, and tell tales of a colony of a race of people nearby wo do not take kindly to people moving in to their territory. The men you have got back are in no condition to fight, and the colony outnumber you easily, so a forward assault is suicide, and completely out of the question. You could call for reinforcements in case they appear and attack, or alternatively you can wait for the remaining four days for your researchers to return and decipher the language on the space vehicle, and hope the unfriendly race of beings don't attack in the meantime.
