Double gatlings pushes them over 400 points though.

Yes, but it's a very tasty 400+ points.

Do they even have option for double gattling? 24 ap3 rending shots is incredibly scary and still cheaper than what we pay for 24 ap- shots...
I was checking through battlescribe but couldn't see an option for 2nd gattlings. Under what provisions can they take them?

Renegade IK can take double gatlin cannons, yes. It only came out last week so I wouldn't expect battlescribe or armybuilder to have updated yet.

Gesamtpunkte der Armee : 1498
He played an chaos warband with chosen biker lord on juggernaught with claw and fist. the maries are all naked butt cc weapons if possible. He also played 3 daemonprinces each one with an artefact axe. (Instant Death, FNP, Daemonweapon)
We played kill the xenos and hidden malstrom cards.
He won deployment and wanted to start.
So i hugged the board. and even didnt throw for cult ambush and infiltrated with the first curse. This was not so good as my opponent was so fast in my deployment zone it would have been a threat to have some units been able to attack.
So he pushed everything forward thanks to a 2w6 beginning move but was only able to charge one mucluid which was there as a bait.
I started and let everything go in the shadows but 2 units of acolytes. The Flyrant started flying and casted fnp on himself.
He opened fire one one dp without fnp and killed him nearly letting him alive with one wound. The hierodule was able to ran full 6 and toasted 3 marines in the ruin on the left.
The acolytes run for cover to let the dp charge with ini 1.
In his turn he marches onward but his lord stayed in the backfield scoring mz.
One prince charged my Hivetyrant after the other prince overflew him and passed a wound on him. My tyrant failed his grounding check and lost another wound. After the charge i was able to hit first so i thought i one punch him with a smash attack but he saved it lucky. :/
One other prince charged the acolytes on the right. After getting 2 wounds he eliminated the squad.
The red prince ran out of the field.
In my turn everything came in. One acolyte squad and one cultist squad was able to charge.
My magus appeard together with his cultis squad and the squad which was able to charge in front of an 5er marine squad. The Magus casted fleet on the cultists and maledicted the tactical squad with his primaris.
The Hierodule walked forward and flamed another squad down to the seargent.
So the acolytes nymmed the two roasted marines in the ruin. And the neophytes wiped the full squad after softening up with rapidfire from the other squad.
my metamorphs stayed in cover so the princes would hit last but they never attacked them. ^^#
cultist enyoyed their win.
In his turn the chaos lord, a spawn the lonly seargent and a deamonprince attacked the hierodule. He got allota punched but stuck it away thanks fnp and only lost 4 wounds despite alot of ds2 attacks.
He then onepunched the daemonprince and got stuck on combat. In my turn two acolytes squads joined the fight and eleminated everything but the seargent and the lord which got whiped from the hierodule.
The neophytes killed in the meanwhile another squad of marines. (Buffs make them extremly good)
at this point my opponent wiffed as he had only 2 wounded princes left on the board.
Win for the cult

Interesting report, that's good to read! His list was really character focused. One thing to note, your elites choices are metamorphs, where your list builder says they're acolyte hybrids. I have some questions, just to get your opinions on your choices and your army. Just to be clear, I'm not criticising your choices, I just like understanding how people feel about certain choices 1) Your list contained a scythed hierodule, which many people don't think is worth the points. Having said that, the game seems to have had one critical moment, where a lot of his army charged your hierodule and couldn't kill it, and then your army charged and you won the game. Do you feel the points investment into that model is enough to justify selecting it? Do you believe it's enough of a distraction, enough of an enemy magnet, to be worth it? Many people would argue that you should have taken a total of three flyrants, but then you would not have had the large melee target, so your thoughts on this would be great. 2) You used a number of 7-model acolyte units. Why did you choose the number 7? 3) You had one acolyte hybrid squad in the doting throng. Do you feel it was worth putting there, instead of inside subterranean uprising? 4) Your report shows the metamorphs didn't get into combat. Do you feel the enemy was avoiding them because they were a stronger unit than your acolyte units? Do you believe you could have made other choices which would have let them be more useful in the battle? 5) The positioning of your scythed hierodule was interesting, way off to the side. Why did you decide to place it there, instead of towards the centre? 6) If you had used cult ambush in deployment, the game would have been very different. For one, the game would have likely focused on his side of the battlefield. Looking back, do you wish you had used cult ambush to deploy them? 7) Your decision to return to the shadows in your first turn was also interesting. The enemy had already moved up and they were very close to you, so your melee units could have just walked up. Why did you use RTTS here? Was it to encourage them to attack your scythed hierodule, or were there other reasons? I'm glad you enjoyed the game, again I'm just trying to get your opinions so we can all learn, I'm not saying your decisions were bad!

Good game and thanks for the report. For your flyrant, I suppose I just don't read enough batreps to notice, but you getting an extra wound from grounding sucks. I'll tack on some interest in your view of scythed as I'm painting up mine at the moment.

I'm glad you enjoyed the game, again I'm just trying to get your opinions so we can all learn, I'm not saying your decisions were bad! The armybuilder ist not final they are ment to be metamorphs. 1. I took the Scytehd Hierodule in Fun and in competetive games. In the fun games i came along grav and dweapon spam along seldom. In an Turney game i play either full Genestealer or with help of three flyrants. Saldy in the turney with the flyrants i had in two from three games tau with markerlights and lost badly. I won the game against dark angels 20:0! If you want to play point effective leave the hierodule at home. If you want to have fun play one but dont wonder that it can go down just in one round. 2. 7 is a good Number because you have mostly enough moddles left to do some hurtfull damage. min squad is nearly useless if it loose two models. 3. I had to choose three units for the doting throng. I could have put another neophytesquad in but i thought another acolytesquad was more handy. 4. Yes the would have eatien the princes alive before he could hit. No my next step would have been to return them in the shadows to strike in turn 5 into critial events (if they would have become a six) 5. i dind not wanted to present the hierodule to the three princes they might have charged it alltogether and to divide his army into units that has to go after my flyrant and some units that has to go after the dule. 6. i had a long charge and movement range because of the world eater formation. If we would have played another deployment with long table edges he would have charged me with ease. So i just put them outa range so that i can dictate where the charges go off. 7. i inflitrate them as normal (i had to because of the uprising rule) because i did not wanted to divide my army over the battlefield. That would have allowed my opponent to pick the fights and that is wat i wanted to avoid. I also thought that he never gets every unit down in cc so it would be guaranteed that i had the chance to attack him concentrated in the next turn. Hitting there where his weak spots where and where i thougt that my units win the fights without risks. That my hierodule survived was lucky (i even forgott to stomp). I did not thougt that he pulled a charge with so much units but it was just an gift for me that it survived and bounded them till the acolytes could charge. No prob. Arent we all here to learn.

Failed all FNP Checks even when it falls on his nose. :/ I love the Scythed Hierodule from the looks and her potential. Sure she is overcosted as hell but she can do some serius damage. it is funny to flame some Eldar Bikers or Marines and all they can do is burn.

Dice are dice, that's going to happen so no worries on the flyrants going down. Now that Scythed H., I very much agree with you on how you take it, sort of what I was thinking of as well. Though I don't run GSC, I like hormagaunts, so there is that shield for her. Cheers.

I RTTS anything on turn one that isn't about to charge or score. Depending on the charge, I may leave ICs on the field to offer hatred or fearless.
I'm also more reluctant to RTTS the first curse if I'm rolling for cult ambush, unless I roll a 1 for deployment.

Hi fellow Nidplayers the new codex is here and i think it is time to resurrect my Battlereportthread. I had to confess that i´ve put a long time since the index came out hand on my nids because i found them a little overwhelming after the first shouts of joy. I´ve testet some concepts but only managed to pull one win with them out. Ironically with Genestealercults in combination. Now with the codex dropped i´v decided to put out some more games with em. My first codex game was with a Leviathanfleet as i have to know what my Hivefleetcolours are worth. I played a brigarde at 1500 to get some stratagems of. ++ Brigade Detachment +9CP (Tyranids) [82 PL, 1500pts] ++ + HQ [20 PL, 359pts] + Hive Tyrant [11 PL, 199pts]: Lash Whip and Monstrous Bonesword [15pts], Power: Catalyst, Power: Paroxysm, The Reaper of Obilterax, Two Devourers with Brainleech Worms [14pts], Wings [2 PL, 27pts] Malanthropes [5 PL, 90pts]: Malanthrope [90pts] Neurothrope [4 PL, 70pts] + Troops [15 PL, 219pts] + Ripper Swarms [2 PL, 33pts]: 3x Ripper Swarm [33pts] Ripper Swarms [2 PL, 33pts]: 3x Ripper Swarm [33pts] Ripper Swarms [2 PL, 33pts]: 3x Ripper Swarm [33pts] Termagants [3 PL, 40pts]: 10x Termagant (Fleshborer) [40pts] Termagants [3 PL, 40pts]: 10x Termagant (Fleshborer) [40pts] Termagants [3 PL, 40pts]: 10x Termagant (Fleshborer) [40pts] + Elites [13 PL, 248pts] + Maleceptor [9 PL, 172pts]: Massive Scything Talons [10pts], Power: Psychic Scream Pyrovores [2 PL, 38pts]: Pyrovore [38pts] Pyrovores [2 PL, 38pts]: Pyrovore [38pts] + Fast Attack [3 PL, 60pts] + Mucolid Spores [1 PL, 20pts]: Mucolid Spore [20pts] Mucolid Spores [1 PL, 20pts]: Mucolid Spore [20pts] Mucolid Spores [1 PL, 20pts]: Mucolid Spore [20pts] + Heavy Support [23 PL, 453pts] + Carnifexes [6 PL, 105pts] . Carnifex [105pts]: Enhanced Senses [10pts], 2x Two Devourers with Brainleech Worms [28pts] Screamer-Killers [6 PL, 110pts] . Screamer-Killer [110pts]: 2x Monstrous Scything Talons [15pts], Adrenal Glands [5pts] Tyrannofex [11 PL, 238pts]: Rupture Cannon [49pts], Stinger Salvo [8pts] + Flyer [8 PL, 161pts] + Hive Crone [8 PL, 161pts]: Stinger Salvo [8pts] ++ Total: [82 PL, 1500pts] ++ My opponent played csm with a Apostel with Black mace and the dude which can let reroll wounds in cc. they came along with 10 possessed in a landraider. He also played 2 kultist sq uads, 1 tac with lascannon, one Gattlingfiend, and some chosen with flamers in a rhino. 5 Raptors with 2 plasma and combiplasma. At last a Brute with whips and plasma.
We played contact lost. I was able to choose the side with the most marker and was able to seize the ini!
In my first Turn my rippers and Mucluid spores dropped to block his movement with his raider and fiend and brute. I flew with the drude on the left flank to toast 4 Kultist with the Droolcannon and killed another two with the salvo. In moral ran another 3 away and only the saergent stayed. The Flyrant schocked at the left flank and killed another kultist squad with smite and his devourers. The Tyrannofex fired his rupture cannon with the +1 damage stratagem @ the helburte but took him only 5 wounds of. The rest of the army pushed forward. I got the charge of with one ripper squad and manged to get with the raider brute and fiend into cc but the brute slayed the rippers. (should have avoided it) I scored terrify as the kultist missed their test. In his turn he downed the dakka fex (fiend and landraider) and some ripper, mucluid as the chosen disembarked. He forgot about his raptors (as i did too). His rhino charged a mucluid but it survived and did 3 mortal wounds on it. He scored his objektive.
In my second turn i stood on 3 markers and drew this much objektives. The Flyrant flew into the ruin attack the tacticals on the needed marker (defend Marker3). He smited one and killed none in shooting despite i took the cover of the ruin per stratagem. Neurotrope and Maleceptor smited some chosen away. Gaunts finished the last Kultist and the crone flew in the heart of his mechpark. He burned some chosen and shot some missiles at the fiend wounding it twice. I managed to kill the Brute with the tyranidsmite and some shooting. The pyrovores fired into the chosen finishing them of. I charged the gaunts into the landraider and the rhino. The crone charged the land raider and the fiend. He did no damage but he got 4 wounds from the fiend. The Rippers charged the tacs in the ruin to hold them up from shooting. i scored two objektives.
In his round he could only shoufle a bit around to disengage from combat. he also unloaded his characters and possessed tho charge my maleceptor. Characters charged the pyrovore. Pyrovore did two wounds on the apostel and survived the attacks from the chars with one wound. the 24 attacks from the choosen bounced from the maleceptor as i made alot of 4+ saves and two fnp from 3 wounds wich passed the invul. (that 6+++ was kinda handy in this game). The Raptors deep struck finaly and laid fire onto my screamerfex but he survived with two wounds (thanks 6+++)
On my turn i flew with the tyrant into the building to help the critters out and shot all tacs dead (one died of smite). The neurotrope smites 2 wounds of the possessed. The maleceptor did his overload and put 3 wounds on the choosen! He missed the woundcharacter but put a mw on the apostel. I shot plasma with the screamer but only did one wound. The pyrovre (with full wounds) and drude killed of the apostel. Tyrannofex wiffed hard (those 4+ ). Carnifex charged into the possessed to kill another 3 after he did a mortal wound. He did nothing on the carnifex in return.
In his turn he called the possessed back and shooted my screamerkiller with the plasmaraptors. His Character attacked my tyrannofex but only took two wounds. He concentrated his shooting (Las and gattling) on my hivetyrant but he survived with 4 wounds. At the beginning of my turn he conceded as i was 6:1 objektves leading and the rest of the game would have been a slaughtering the rest of.!
Win for the Nids! We both brought not optimized lists to test things out and i must say that i´m impressed how good the stratagems work together hand in hand with this army. I made a few mistakes as letting the shooty vehicle out of cc. (i could have consolidated back again again into his Land raider!) and stayed with the crone into cc with the fiend but i find his drool cannon too usefull. The 6+++ was gold and helped my big critters to survive another round. (Carnifex and Tyrant would have been dead earlier). I like that adaption but i will try some others two (like kronos and jomungandr)
Stay tuned for more reps!

Thanks. Indeed good times. Thinking of an fireheavy kronos detachment with jomungandr elements. 2 Ecos 2 Tyrannofexen 1-2 units hiveguard. Meatshields of 30 guantssquads and some flyrants for the backfieldthreat and one malanthrope and neurothrope. will tell you how it went.
