So if the rumor mill is true. Is GW going to overhaul the ty

I don't want simply a formation band-aid, there are a lot of units in this dex that need help as they stand, alone outside of any would-be formation. Formations should be the icing on the cake, not the.. now this unit is auto include.. or left in the dust if you cant fit the formation within your list. Formations could make the nid dex very powerful depending on what it is, but I would feel it very lazy on GW's part if that's how they addressed the issues in the codex. If the Tyranid Decurion provided EW to Synapse creatures and projected a FNP save to units in Synapse it would... just.. holy (please do not swear). But it would still be lazy. Because if that's what happens, we no longer have codex flyrant..we have codex formation X. Which like flyrants will grow boring and loathed by our opponents for one reason or another. Just think of X spam that you hate..or hated, now just imagine always fighting that.

Agreed. I'm hoping for some more internal balance. Right now it feels like I'm handicapping myself by not using flyrants (objectively speaking that feeling is correct, which makes it worse)

I'm just hoping that the new Tyranid codex is out before I spawn my own Termagant.

We could have a brilliantly internally balanced dex, and it would mean nothing at all if it can't hang with welfare formations.

Oh come on guys what's wrong with our Decurions? Living tide and Skytide? (Don't even remember their garbage names I know one of those is right..)
You can extend your warlords synapse by a whole 6" for a mere 2000+ points, and a small tuitions fee for the models. I STILL HAVE NEVER ONCE USED DOMINION since we have got it. My Knight player always makes sure to put my Dominion card on top of my pile so I don't forget. Thoughtful. ^^
Like everything us Nids pioneer.. We got a stinker prototype, they polished it and passed it around. When it comes back GW goes "meh," and rinses and repeats.
It's not that we can't have nice things. It's just they take it away and give it to everyone else once they realize it's a good direction. (Trygon is a perfect example, remember how awesome the FIRST oval base MC was? Now he's trash.)

I'm just hoping that the new Tyranid codex is out before I spawn my own Termagant. Is this a clue to a new development in the gene stealing life cycle? Do you recall visiting any space hulks recently. Would you even be able to remember if you had? Or does the Termagant come from the other half of your parnership?

That and norn crown might be worth something if IB creatures were good. As it is, a few dakkafexes aren't that hard to keep in synapse.

I hope there will be some new rumor about our new Codex soon. I don't want to wait until March for it.

I just wish that the Tyranid prime could take Wings so he could actually join shrieks instead of having to be podded to keep up.

We could have a brilliantly internally balanced dex, and it would mean nothing at all if it can't hang with welfare formations. Agree^, but we should have both (as should other armies). I don't want a new dex that nerfs flyrants, leaves the mess of most units/biomorphs, but makes pyrovores and old one eye super awesome game winning or our new highly competitive units so they appear in almost every build. Same with devourers. Though I am sick of devourers on tyrants and fexes I don't want them nerfed and replaced with a super venom cannon that becomes the standard weapon because the other biomorphs are garbage. It is not unreasonable to expect both internal and external balance (not perfect but pretty good balance). And yes I want tyranid primes to have the wings option as well.

a lot of work through this codex.... unfortunately when I make a tyranid list, it makes me sick to see how pricey are our units we have the worst balance between points and value ! With the worst profiles for MC ...
GW needs to make a choice NOW ! - give a big drop in the points cost of our units, and keep the same caracteristics and take them by 3(about 20-30% of their value for tervigon for example or trygon or toxicrene - malefunctor) and for warriors ans stealers ! (take at 50 pts each with boneswords and a 4+ svg E4 without EW is a shame !!!!) - give a big change into profiles like WS4 for all minimum, WS 5 for close monsters, give beasts for all, increase endurance and initiative and attacks or give EW for all in synapse range big improvments in the psy tables, svg 3+ and 2+ new weapons, and more AP 2, and strenght D
if nothing is done like that I stop tyranids and w40k because i'im sick of this (please do not swear) game that only put eldar, SM, necron and tau on the top of the game

Well it looks like we've got a new codex now, the softback version at 20%ish off. Strange but true. CSM got the same. The current codex was out of stock for months so this could be a cheap short term money spinner until the new hardbacks are done? Either way, still a while yet

Don't worry about it, don't think about it. Just collect a well-rounded collection of Tyranid models and you'll enjoy playing more than if you sat on tenterhooks hoping for this edition's new, all-purpose wonder-hammer.

Arghle. They say new rules, for 7th edition, for the GMCs and Dimachaeron. I have doubts they are significant changes...
