Tyranid Tactical Objective Cards

Sup Hive. So I work at a printing press, and my boss is pretty laid back about running personal projects on the machines, so the other day I decided to run off a set of Tactical Objective cards with a Tyranid theme. These are just regular cards with a Nid flavor, but I was curious if anyone had written any up that could be exclusive to Tyranids? Figure I'll throw 'em into the next batch.

I've only thought a little about Nid-specific Cards. Definitely one for killing stuff in CC, fluff-wise.

To echo everyone else too... I'd totally buy a set of these cards. They look absolutely stunning... no idea about copywriting laws though.

I believe there are six race specific cards in a deck, so here are a few quick suggestions to help for ideas.





The Devourer Hungers - Score 1 victory point if you destroy one or more enemy units in your assault phase. Score D3 victory points if a Tyranid unit with IB:Feed completely destroys an enemy unit.

The Devourer Strikes - Score 1 victory point if you destroy one or more enemy units in your shooting phase. Score D3 victory points if a Tyranid unit with IB:Hunt completely destroys an enemy unit.

The Devourer Awaits - Randomly select an objective by rolling a D6. Score 1 victory point if you capture and control this objective. Score D3 victory pints if a Tyranid unit with ID:Lurk captures and controls this objective.

Will of the Hive Mind - Select one of your Synapse units on the table and the farthest objective from this unit becomes the target objective for this card. Score 1 victory point if you capture and control this objective. Score D3 victory points if the selected Synapse unit captures and controls this objective.

Wrath of the Hive Mind - Select a single character and or independent character in your opponents army. Score 1 victory point for killing the character. Score D3 victory points if a Synapse unit kills the character.

The Final Stand - Your opponent must select a single objective on the table. Score D3 victory points if you capture and control this objective. Score D6 victory points if you capture and control it at the end of the current turn.

Hows about adding fluff to the secure objective cards such as -

Spore tower objective
The ground trembles under objective 1 as a chitinous spore tower erupts from the ground. Secure and hold objective objective 1 for D3 points a game turn for the rest of the game. Or objective 1 is now worth D2 points a turn for either side if they hold it for the remainder of the game.

I think I'd actually avoid Objective-based Cards. Holding ground has never really been a big part of the Nid fluff.

1 - The Devourer: 1 Point if you destroy a non-Vehicle Unit in CC. d3 Points if 3-5 Units, 3+d3 if 6+ Units.
2 - Prey Evaluation: 1 Point if one of your Synapse Units successfully destroys a Unit. d3 if one of your Synapse Units kills an IC in CC.
3 - Power of the Hive Mind: 1 Point if you successfully manifest at least one Psychic Power.
4 - Nowhere to Run: 1 Point if you destroy a Unit with one of your Units that Infiltrated, Outflanked, or arrived by Deep Strike.
5 - Nowhere to Hide: 1 Point if you successfully Charge a Unit after destroying the Transport or Building they were in OR if you destroy a Unit by surrounding their Transport/Building and then Wrecking it.
6 - Overwhelming Horror: 1 Point if an Enemy Unit fails a Morale, Pinning, or Fear Test.

If you've got the cards, the numbers aren't really necessary.

Army specific objectives cards have been a mixed bag so far. Ranging from 'why do GW hate us' (Space Wolves) to 'GW loves us!' (Demonkin). Some tournaments ban army specific cards, and some do not.

I fear the next Tyranid codex will give us the Space Wolf treatment.
