Hello everyone just thought I would share a few photos of my flyrant and warriors, I have entered them into my local gaming stores painting competition....best squad and best warlord and best monstrous creature...

Thanks, your paint scheme is great I plan to get my flyrant with lash whip bone sword as good as yours...

Hey thanks, yeah I spend a lot of extra time on the highlights to make it really stand out...

Thanks, I'm proud of my tyranids for the most part but I like yours more. I genuinely had a wow moment when I clicked on this thread and scrolled down

Are these all you have so far? My only note of caution would be to keep using the green details as sparingly as you have on the tyrant and warriors. I didn't notice the green initially, and they're such small details that they don't draw attention away from the overall orange/red theme, but if you ever find yourself painting larger details with that green I'd reconsider it because the unified look you have is one of the great aspects of your paint scheme. Anything at all that detracts from that would be a negative in my eyes

It's not even a criticism, just something to watch out for moving forwards. I'd love to see more of your nids, the red/orange/brown/yellow thing is ambitious but you've executed tastefully and effectively

How did you do it? I have ideas of how you might have done the skin but I'm not so sure about the carapace

Thank you for liking my photos, my second flyrant has lash whip bonesword. Not sure what colours to do his sword and whip thou....
The scheme does take a while thou but looks great.

Hey thanks for the compliments, the scheme does take a while. The carapace is basically troll slayer orange, then agrax earth shade straight from the pot. I did two coats to make it dark. Then the orange again but 50-50 with medium missing the creases and detail. Two coats.
Next is highlights of yellow"two coats" then bone colour and finally tiny bit of white....

The green detail was fun to add on and would agree to keep it small and light on the models...

I have 30 termagants, zoanthrope, venomthrope, two carnifexes painted as well...got lots to paint up
Thinking of doing mawloc next...

Thank you tylertt, the judges are real imperial snob players and don't like playing my tyranids they always loose lol so might not win the painting competition.... Be fun thou
