While the rage is probably overblown, there is no denying that Tyranids got the short end of the stick in any environment that doesn't allow DLC ... err data slates. And even then we STILL have vast swathes of our codex that are garbage. Meanwhile the Space Marine and AM dexes have been largely well received and balanced.
Claiming that this is a pro imperial bias at GW I think is sorely misplaced however. I think it is just a case of uneven codex writing and little concern for internal or external balance. GW seems to have all but given up any pretense that they are a top notch game company instead of a model company that kinda makes a game to go with them and that is pretty sad.
This^. I'm the first to say that nids got a lousy dex again - 2 in a row. And for me it does undermine my desire to play 40k (how many years do I have to wait for a decent set of rules for my favourite army?). I wouldn't classify nids as the only xenos army though and as Core and others have stated a number of the non-imperial armies are top. And if the new AM dex is strong (don't know myself) and decently internally balanced (not perfect but a lot better than nids) then it sits along with SM or better dexes, but I wouldn't put DA in that group.
Bahamut - Coredump has mentioned many times that the nids dex is not a good product, but since we are stuck with it and with dataslates (although many places do not allow them yet), he and others have been trying to find ways for nids to compete. Reading Coredumps post for a long time, evn if I disagreed with something I would never consider Core a GW shill or someone that hasn't clearly acknowledged the 6th ed nid dexes shortcomings (which are many). I do feel your frustration - since I started in 4th edition GW seems to not know what to do with nids or care about making a decent game. I think we are just more unlucky and that maybe it is easier for GW not to screw-up space marine armies completely. You sound very upset (and I do understand - I have had the same feeling of dumping all my 40k stuff in a barrel and setting it on fire)) and I have agreed with your views many times but I think you should step back on this one and try to look at what people are saying through a different lens.
