From what I heard from the mill o rumor is that we do not have a specific writer, but it is the "GW Team" who wrote it.
Other then that I am not sure rumor wise who is supposed to be our author.

WHO GIVES A (please do not swear)
I seriously cannot take this (please do not swear) any more. Almost the entire General subforum is plastered with "how many gaunts have you pre-ordered" "how many pages do you think the new Codex will be" "POLL: do you think the genestealer entry will be on an odd or even numbered page?". I am losing my damn mind here.

Cruddace probably didn't like all the flak he got after our 5th edition book lol. Saying GW team instead of specific names just so they dont get all the hate on the interwebs.

Yeah, a collaborative effort could mean a balanced, well-rounded, well-written codex. Or a pile of horse dung that no one wants to receive death threats because of.

I am losing my damn mind here. What you have to remember is that a lot of people are so hyped about the new codex that they just want to talk about it. You should have expected this. It's the Tyranid Hive after all, and I fully expect the general forum to be swarming with activity for the next while. It's not all leaks and rumours. Sometimes Tyranid players just want to share their hype with other tyranid players.

Talking about the Tyranid Codex for the sake of talking about it? Sounds great...

I am losing my damn mind here. Then why don't you do yourself a favor and not read these topics? It is a new codex coming out and of course some people would just like to have some discussion about the new models they may/may not want buy, or about certain things that may like, or even to ask things they could not find. It is what the Hive is for, a community to discuss and talk about Tyranids. Instead of bringing in such a negative vibe onto the Hive, why don't you just not bother posting in topics you don't like. Mods are aware of these types of threads and delete them if they are redundant or unnecessary, so let us allow them to keep doing their excellent job of keeping the General section clean.

That's great except that said topics are drowning out actually useful discussion. Not reading them doesn't help with my problem, which is that they are there despite adding nothing.
I agree that the Hive is a community to discuss Tyranids. How is it helpful to have separate topics along the lines of "Will you get the ebook version?", or "How will you read the Codex when you get it?"
I mean seriously? "How will you read the codex"? Personally I thought I'd buy it, open it, and then look at it with my eyes. Maybe some people are planning to read it with their teeth?

Being a little childish there bro.
We have a book coming out that will litterally change the way that everyone here will be playing for the next several years. Is it really that unreasonable that the OP wants to have a disscussion about who exactly wrote this hugely important book?

People are impatient and have too much free time on their hands, I guess.

i just wanted to have a simple answer to my question, because i was interested in it. i dont know if you read books, but to me it kind of matters who writes the books i read ... however, it seems that there is no answer, so just close this thread.

The question in the OP isn't as pointless as many of the ones which have cropped up recently, but was the straw that broke the camel's back for me.
The other thing to mention is that these days codices aren't written by a single person anyway, so there really isn't an answer to the question other than "the GW design team". The background bits are another story, but that doesn't seem to be what people are interested in here.
