Do we save any money buying the Apoc formations? (disregard)

I almost literally **** a brick when I spotted the apoc formations on the GW official website.

I just wanted to know if anyone had done the math yet on if buying any of these formations would save any money as apposed to buying the seperate units? Because the Endless Swarm and Living Fortress options look very enticing...

Also, if I bought the Living Fortress, would it be in one big box like the battleforce? or would I get all the seperate boxes at a (theorized) discounted price? Because I really need a Swarmy and a Flyrant

I guessing the answer is that you don't save a penny?

I've heard there are actually some one click bundles where you lose money, because they use the various boxsets that make up a battleforce, but don't have the reduced price involved with buying a battleforce (or extra models in our case).

To answer your other question, no, they will all come in unit boxes as if you bought each unit individually.

The price is the same as if you bought everything individually whereas the battleforces save you about 30% overall I think

The forgeworld ones you actually save a bit. On the Heirphant + x2 Heirodules formation they have on there, you save I think something like $60.00 (CDN), as compared to buying it individually.

Now seeing what it really costs to get into the hobby, is this really a good move? I mean, when we started the hobby, if we saw these prices, would we have even started?

Well I started when I was young (not to much money) and I still play&buy but I have more money know since I have a job so it still have about the same effect on my economy, but I have friends who are kind of new to the hobby and they are thinking of dropping it or at least stop buying stuff and only play a 1000p or lower because of the price involved.

The thing that really bugs me about this formation and bundles thing is that neither party profit from it.(well gw profit a bit frome impuls buyers but they can profit more). If you saved say 10% on a formation like endless swarn or the 3 dakkajet bundle I would have probably bought them while I now dobut I will buy the 2 extra jets for my orks and probably jsut half the amount of gaunts over a 1-2 year period instead. I mean bundles are supposed to encourage more spending where less or none would occur, sure I save my money, but it's just so studid of them to say no to this win-win deal.

I just wanna see the selling figures for GW and see if they have actually got people who have more money than sense to buy one. Some of them are well over £1000 (See Forge World!)! Crazy!

I knew it was an expensive hobby when I started, but I naively thought I could make due by just spending around $500. If I saw the amount of money I would end up spending on it before I started I would have opted instead to drink a big old glass of NOPE!

The point is, for people who DO NOT KNOW what they are buying for little Timmy. Now for those Mom and Dad don't go to the stores as much and buy online who think they are getting a deal. Pretty shabby if you ask me.
