I bought my battle force and 1 tyrant guard (they were out of tyrants so i thought I'd start with his guard!!!)

So without further adoo....


Deep within space on the oceanic planet of Atlanticar, in the blackest regions of the sea lies the lost hive fleet Nautilus, an offshoot of kraken, there hive ship crashed on the planet and they have evolved under the waves to dominate the local species.. now they're on the move!!!!!!!!

Tyrant guard:

Nice I like it a lot especially the carapace I like the blueish theme and the water fluff. I did the carapace similarly to yours. It looks very sea/ocean like to me.

Its sorta cool, but you should highlight more than drybrush

I can see where you would see that, alucard, but I paint 'em white put down ice blue on their carpace then highlight the carpace tips with enchanted blue, then..................... I dip them in a mahogany wood stain that hasnt been stirred so i get a brown color, but with the guards body i diped down to the red color for the "meaty flesh" and the redipped him for the brown body. Thanks for the tip though!

When I was dipping him I accedentially droped him to the bottom of the mahogany stain, but when I got off the red color from the mahoganny I red dipped him to get brown and the red showed back up, but the rest of his body stayed brown. (I dip in the top 1/4 of a mahoganny stain because it's all I have and i still get nice results!)

I like the look of your shell and colors, and the guard is hands down your best figure, you have a good amount of definition to the features. A critique I have for your Warrior is that the orange seems a bit sloppy, and stands out. It's well used, and a good color choice, I wish I could tell you how to tidy it up, but I'm not that good at painting (0 figures complete, Ph D.s suck up a lot of time). It may be shadows, but your hormagaunts seem inconsistently painted, are they meant to be dirty?

Excellent start to the swarm, your carni should fit nicely with the sea theme. Can't wait.

You might want to cheange up how you base them, unless you are going for the raggedy sand look.

This color scheme is a color revolution of Blue and Ice
