Hive fleet Nagah--the start of my army

Just thought I'd show off the first couple critters I've got going. Aren't they cute? (in that slimy, tear-your-face-off-and-eat-it kind of way).
I was going to post some pics of my rippers, but the camera batteries died and I have no more in the house. So I'll move right into:

All my nids are gonna be converted to be rather snake-like. Should be interesting with the carnifexes-- never tried a conversion that big before. As I get some spare cash, I'll pick up some new critters. Right now I'm painting up my rippers--only 20 bases left to go....
So what do you guys think?

Wow, you have the inverse of the scheme I have. Just curious, Why did you choose the name nagah(the word is familiar to me)?

naga, without the h... is a term for a race of snake with some huumanoid characteristics.

Pheonix is right. In many eastern mythologies, Naga are referred to as a race of snake people. Sometimes they have the ability to become fully human, sometimes they are humans with snake bodies from the waist down, and sometimes they are fully snakes. I've seen it spelled both ways, but the little checking i did seems to indicate that "nagah" is a sanscrit word meaning "snake" or "cobra", while "naga" implies the more supernatural type.

I wanted a name that fit. I'm hoping to make everything look kinda similar-- like ripper evolution gone wild (still trying to figure out how to convert the zoanthropes...). And Hive fleet Ripper didn't sound right, nor did Ravenous or Cobra. But continuing the snake idea led me to Naga. I used to play White Wolf's World of Darkness, and I loved the shapeshifter races, especially the Mokole and Nagah (lizards and snakes). So I added the h.
And that's my long winded explanation-- which basically boils down to Why? Because I like it."

If you do it right you can also use your converted snake 'fex as a trygon in apoc games, mmmmm tastey to models for the price of one fex!

Thats pretty cool... as for the zoanthrope i think that if you remove just a few talons you should be fine for the snaky look...

maybe you should make a Space Wolves successor chapter called The Garou?

i was thinking of Necrons as sort of a robo-Giovanni (they even have Wraiths working for them!)

Space Wolves fallen to Khorne = Black Spiral Dancers

you know what would be pretty funny?
paint up a Gaurdsman for the Homid form of a Mokole... and then, mid-battle, swap him with a Flyrant.
...just explain that he's gone into his Crinos form!

The rippers are amazing Krythron, dynamic basing really helps to define the little critters. The last picture of the mutilated Tau is possibly my favorite

As for the picture count, this is your thread showing off your work, so post as many (or few) as you think is necessary. Alternatively you could always edit the photos together to make a single, very long picture, which seems to be a popular idea on CMoN.

Love your work, how did u get the slimy look on the skin? I'm curious because i'm doing a red and black scheme and a slimy skin texture would just complete the look of my units
