OK, so my main army is tyranid and a long way from being finished because a) I am a slow painter, b) I get easily distracted by other painting projects c) I never have enough time!
So after seeing some fan art on facebook derby.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=79653&id=579626679&ref=share
which looks like it originally came from here www.myconfinedspace.com/2006/09/18/warhammer-in-pink/
my husband decided to convert some marines by adding hearts and ribbons to them and I got the job of painting them. This was a very easy distraction - painting some 'Emperor's Pride' marines in a fantastically girly pink was very amusing. Adding rainbows and hearts and stars was also very funny. I am now wondering what peace, love and happiness tyranids would look like and if this would also just be 'wrong' somehow?
Can tyranids also embrace the happiness that chaos has wrought to this chapter of marines - whose weapons now fire love arrows, and perfumed bubbles instead of bullets? Will they also love kittens and small cute furry things, and accessorise their bioweapons with handbags?
I know stereotyping is wrong, and can be hurtful -but these marines on their yellow brick road of happiness mean no harm. Should tyranids now follow suit? Can nids be made 'camp' enough?
Btw we made these as a gift for our local GW store who immediately placed them in the model cabinet for all to gawp at - and garnered funny looks from the small boys in store at the time. I only hope that many appreciated the glowing pinkness that ensued.

More piccies are on my Flickr stream if you click the link above the picture.
Please let me have the full force of your comments. Be gentle I only have one biovore trained on you currently.
