Hive Fleet KITTY! ((now with shady goodness))

This is my first tyranid, my first model(s), ever painted, so they may be a little (please do not swear), but I like the colors, and the fleet name probably has absolutely nothing to do with the colors other than the fact I like cats, which also has absolutely nothing to do with the colors. Anyways, here are my first three painted models, and first three additions to my tyranid fleet. Huzzah.

First model carrying a barbed strangler.

Personally i like it, I think you could do better on the shading but I like the speckled effect.

Nice clean paintjobs with a good colour scheme. As has been mentioned, a bit of shading wouldn't go amiss, but for a beginner, these are quite good. The only thing I don't really like is the Talons/Hooves, because I don't care for metallics on Nids, but that's a personal preference thing, so if you like 'em, go for it.

did some shading and updated the pics, hopefully I'll be able to get the genestealers by tomorrow (though that might be unlikely the way they are at the moment). Nonetheless, I will postify each new troop as they are painted. *scitters off to paint the stealers* XD

Better, I like them more with the shading needless to say. I was gonna suggest some highlighting but I feel that would totally ruin the speckled effect, which in my opinion is a great feature of your scheme.

I only wish that I had as much drive to paint my models as the people here, i've base coated all my models and based them but as far as fully painted models I have like.....20 hormagaunts, a devil flyrant, and three zoanthropes(though with my scheme I tend to get away with it considering I leave the chitin black anyways and the base coat is my lightest coat)

At first, I thought the carapace was really patchy, but now I see the spots, I like it

Overall, it's really good for a new painter. the only thing I think needs work is the shading. Even though you've done some, I think it needs more (especially on the joints).

Yeah, that wash made the detail pop quite a bit more. It's a bit patchy, but washes are like that. Keep at it, and I'm sure they'll be looking great in no time.

yeah i like them, the speckled bits are different from what you usualy see but still cool
