My First Attempt Warrior [1 Large Pic]

Hi,
The other day I was bored and didn't know what to do. I looked around my room for inspiration but to no avail. That is until I found the tyranid box set.
I had tried painting gaunts in the past but I found this unsuccessful. I knew that if I put my mind to it I could make a pretty okish model. So I set of in my quest for the greatest model I could paint.
It took the lives of 3 brave men and hours of painstaking work but I managed it!

Post any advise or comments, they are all welcome.

By the way the right sything talon looks slightly deformed this was just an accident in the editing stage...

I must also give a great thankyou to krakenfiend for his guide on the behemoth colour sceme for it helped me greatly. THANKYOU!

looks pretty good. the carapace looks ok. but i like the red

you might want to add some highlights to the skin, but it does look pretty good.

personally i think shading the skin (darkening the deep spots) would look better then highlighting it as it would match in tone with the black more

Very nice mate, that red pops a LOT.. Just do another highlight with something like blazing orange, the tops of the ribs, edges of arm joins and legs etc, also things like fingers.. pick out the raised parts with small highlights. That will make it really good. But good job so far, the black carapace is probably done enough, just give that red a little more love. I like it a lot, and its nice and neat.

i like the Smokey look to the carapace, try removing mold lines on the leg scales too,

Darken the skin, as wolffang said, then maybe a spot of highlight with a orange but not to much.

the red could use some more highlighting, but that doesn't really matter.
What I do recommend is to rely less on drybrushing for the carapace and more on stripe highlights.

if you want to do a really cool red, I recommend having a look at the "how to expertly paint hive fleet behemoth" (it's stickied at the top of the painting section)
