HUGE Down of War Platinum issues

I managed to sell of half of my Space Marine army to afford buying two DOW Platinum's for the computer so my husband and I can play together (on separate comps). I still have half the army so we can still play on the tabletop, but he kinda prefers the comp games so...I bought this because everyone said it rocked and the demo was killer! And we've long grown tired of playing just Empire Earth together.

So, I saved up the funds and bought the games over on Amazon because they were cheaper than buying them at Best Buy. Even so we're talking $80. So ok, we got the games in the mail and I go to install but guess what...on the back of BOTH of my manuals the code keys for the Winter Assault expansion is a whole block short (4 characters) to inititate the install. I can't install just the original Dawn of War either, I must do both DOW and DOW: Winter Assault. As for Dark Crusade, it hasn't asked me that yet but I do have 5 blocks of code for that.

I called the company tech support and they won't give me a code. They say I have to return the games to Amazon or to them for replacements, which in both cases will take anywhere from 2-4 weeks. Amazon will give me free shipping back to them but how do I know if Amazon won't send me two more games with bum key codes? I don't want to have go-arounds with them and keep returning things, and they won't refund me on computer software. If I ship back to the company it will cost me another $10 and they also cannot guarantee that I will get proper key codes since they won't open the packages first and check the manuals, though they say this is a problem they never heard of and is rare. Well, how rare? Because I got 2 games here with the same problem for both!

All I wanted was a new game my hubby and I could play instantly, rather than me having to build all the models. DOW is rockin' and I played the demo so I wanted it, and I want to play it NOW since I paid for it NOW. I don't want to wait and then have a what-if scenario!

I'm so pissed off because I'm the kind of person who actually buys the games, not steal them off the internet, and it irks me that I might just have to put more money out here and be frustrated for another 4 weeks. All I need is the code for Winter Assault! I don't see why they can't give them to me even though I have proof of purchase and game them my other codes which were ligitimated. This is so frustrating!!!

well there, Now as I look at it.. my Dawn of War code is too 4 digits short. i belive that when you install the disk for DoW and DoW:winter assault, the codes lengths are not exactly the same length, I do hope I'm helping out and not adding fuel to the fire.. but try it again and let me know what happens.

DOW code, 16 digits
DOW:WA code, 20 digits
DOW:DC code, 20 digits.

if i understand correctly your DOW:WA code only has 16 digits. I think your only option is to send it back to amazon in that case

maybe you can play DOW:DC while trying to get the rest to work, since it can play as a standalone game (although it will ask for the other 2 keys when you start it at first just in case you want to unlock the other races). Not a solution, but at least something.

if you aren't adverse to the idea you can (if i remember correctly) download a program from the net that will generate key codes for most games - not sure if i will work for you but it's definitely worth a shot.

they are the unofficial, official forums for relic - that means they are not relic, but relic people do post there. I remember seeing thie problem and they (relic) were investigating the incident - post up a thread and have a search around the site for answers - I have no idea as to the results

I had the exact same problem, but i called THQ and they werent a jack @$$ and gave me a code. So basically you gotta call THQ with a bit of luck and hope for a nice person, cause he gave me a code without questioning - "Hi this is THQ Support. how may I help you? * Hi. I bought DOW platinum edition over one month ago, and my dawn of war winter assault code is missing four digets. * ok i will give you a new code: **** **** **** **** Thank you!" it went something like that

You mean same here as in with me or with the author of this post? Well, like I said, Try to call THQ support you need the little 5 diget code on the last page, near the bottom of the first paragraph, in case you did not know about it, but I doubt you don't know. Anyways, If you don't succeed the first time, try again later, perhaps in a day or 8 hours. Keep trying to call, but If you fail like, 5 times, give up. You have to send it to THQ, and eventually file a complaint.
