Returning from 9E

Hi, it’s been a while!

I’ve been looking to return to the world of 40K.

I’ve been keeping relatively up to date as a run a warhammer school club, I’ve just not managed to get any games in this edition.

One of the kids in my group informed me that tyranids are looking “litty fresh” so I figured I’d have a look at dusting off (literally) the bugs.

I’ve been thinking about making a relatively old school pressure style list, I’m just not really sure if the archetype works anymore?

This archtype was really held up by the Neuronode enhancement letting you redeploy after the roll for first turn. This was recently errata’d to occur before the roll off, so it took a pretty big hit. Vanguard lists typically want 2-3 bricks of Genestealers or melee Warriors and the rest MSU for improved scoring capability.

There was a Nid player at the beginning of 10E who was winning quite a few big tournaments running 2-3 Mawlocs and 2-3 Trygons in various detachments, so you’re on the right track.
