Are there any rumors / thoughts about Pariah Nexus ending biovores being secondary points scoring machines?

None that I've heard. Community mentioned that battle line units will feature heavily in scoring.

Latest meta watch discusses the new mission packs and sounds like there’s big changes to the way actions work. You can not longer advance and perform actions just because you have assault weapons, no longer perform actions in combat because you have pistols, and (the big kicker for us) units with 0 oc can no longer do actions. Hope biovores get a massive points drop because that’s at least 50% of their utility gone!

I'm honestly wondering how nids are going to score in the new missions now. I could almost max secondaries with biovores and mines without even trying.

We'll need a massive points overhaul to stay viable. Scoring secondary missions with Biovores and Ripper Swarms is the only way I've won in 10th. I don't want to play just to be the punching bag.

tbh i think points cuts on their own dont cut it. without spore mine shenanigans i can only see nids being viable with stats overhaul (eg haggard HVC) because the whole battleshock rules we got might be fun, but are not enough to carry us to 45% wr

You can fit nearly 10% In points to models with our battleline units ( ive got like 100+ models in my 1k swarm list), I don't think we're going to have a problem with the new data cards. Everyone will run swarm.

That's my thoughts as well. I just had less fun playing unending swarm. Did a lot of moving and removing of models but couldn't do much damage. Doesn't help that I don't own gargoyles so a lot of the fun shenanigans are out.

Honestly I've already stopped playing 10th, it just wasn't fun to play Tyranids. Move things up, remove countless models, cause no damage, backfield Rippers scored most the points. Just... not a very fun play style and now that isn't even viable now. Idk what they're gonna do with the Codex to make it work with the current edition but I can't see just moving points around doing anything to solve the issue.

They still have use in lists doing Fixed secondaries with specific plans. I think running one is fine if you plan to Homers/Behind Enemy Lines with a plan to fallback to Engage for quarter deployments. Prob not great if your fallback for BEL is Cleanse though. Alternatively, pts cuts could make a BEL/Engage plan more effective than Homers.

I wouldn’t take a Biovore if going Tactical.

Tyranids are more fun to play sub optimally (not scoring shenanigans). I've had a lot of fun with assimilation swarm, vanguard onslaught, and synaptic nexus while not spamming our "must haves for tournaments" units.

I'm hoping we get a strength, shot count, or AP boost to counter us losing a lot of our scoring shenanigans. Alternatively, I could see them making it so certain detachments get OC boosts or battle line for thematic units (assimilation swarm rippers getting an OC boost or genestealers gaining battle line in vanguard).

It just boggles my mind that the competitive crowd is up in arms about ad mech, where nids are in the exact same boat.

I think a change like "Only battleline can score objectives" would be a huge change up and really force people to take different lists over just spamming optimum units.

As for playing sub optimally, I kind of did that to begin with, never ran much of a traditional list. Mostly running Nidzilla with all my big bugs and a few squads of termies and rippers to run objectives and everything else was just "Throw a screamer killer at it" which was pretty fun. I did have some good games with other people that ran less optimal lists, as always it's the people who have to try too hard to win that made me just not bother playing. Those games I barely won by points and almost tabled, now if I cannot even try and score points seems less of a point to play. I would have gone into Synaptic Nexus more but I just didn't have enough Brain Bugs to run it to make the list fun or how I'd like, I was planning on getting more Zoans and another Mala but... in the last year don't think I've ever seen them on the shelves or in stock.

Idk what the Ad Mech group is complaining about, they seem to always complain about something but I've never seen their army be bad or not do well, just that it's expensive to run but why knows.

From a friend who plays as much, the complaints I've seen online are largely:
1. They should be BS3 not BS4
2. There's a limited number of good datasheets in the codex
3. They shouldn't fix ad mech by just dropping the points as it raises the cost of the army too much
4. There's only one or two competitive detachments

Each time I've played ad mech I've gotten shot off the board by the end of turn 3. Ad mech is out hoarding nids with better damage, IMO.
