Went up against Black Templar. Only enough time for 2.5 rounds. I should've read Neuronode more carefully because I planned on redeploying my gun monsters but they're not Vanguard. They did their work though popping one Impulsor. Genestealers cracked the other. Trygon popped up with Rapid Ingress near the Judticar & Sword Brethren that fled the tank and did alright killing them but would've died before they did. Both squads of Genestealers were dead but the Broodlords were about to get pounced by Helbreich. I need to screen better with my infiltrators, glue my Deathleaper, buy another Neurolictor, and continue hunting for a Maleceptor.

I think dropping the Tyranid Prime would be a good idea. It’s only good use is giving a melee Warrior unit the Vanguard Invader keyword (along with sustained 1).

Definitely want Chameleonic on the Wing Tyrant, the -1 to hit vs shooting is worth it.

Horms are also iffy, their points are usually better spent to bring more monsters or Invader units. Haruspex are actually pretty fun in Vanguard, the precision tongue can help the lictors (or other VI units via the strat) snipe characters.


Edit: PoM is also trash this edition, almost anything is better for the points.

Good news is I just acquired a Haruspex kit.

My Hormies disappointed me in the match. After popping an Impulsor with Exocrine T-Fex combo the Hormagaunts died charging a squad containing a Justicar. Correct me if my opponent was wrong, but defenders' Fight First supercedes charging attackers' Fights First, because the charging unit did not innately have Fights First, meaning the Justicar and Squad got to deal their attacks without a clap back from the 'gaunts. Right...?

More Lictor variants must be glued. Prime & paint Deatleaper new version, because my old one is too small. Aquire at least one more neo Lictor and Neurolictor. My three 4th edition Lictors will become Von Ryan’s 7-9.

Close. Chargers do gain fights first even if the unit doesn’t have the keyword. The non-active player gets to select the first unit to fight in the fights first step, so take care when charging fights first!

The reason you run PoM and others is so you cant get shot, is fast, plugs synapse holes and supports unviable combats in order to outscore.

I've only played it twice despite my inner quest to use my 18 VR leapers in a vanguard to my own acceptable effect.

PoM lost synapse this edition (similar to BL), otherwise it would be auto-take in Nexus for the 12” deepstrike denial on a LO body. At 80 pts, it does little a Lictor or Neurolictor can’t do while also being easy assasinate pts. If you already have plenty of LO bodies, then a gargoyle unit or GS are probably pts better spent.

It's very useful in assimilation and I just like the model.

Didn't see no synapse, tough break.
