Synaptic nexus and battleshock

Has anyone tried leaning full into battleshock shenanigans with synaptic nexus? If you use their -1 leadership enhancement, deathleaper, and either a neurotyrant or screamer killers, you can get enemies down to rolling battleshock at a leadership of -3. Popping that with a neurolicthor and you're getting +1 to wound.

I'm debating about running something like that for a league coming up and want to know if it's worthwhile.

The reward of combing all those units just isn’t there. If BS didn’t clear in the opponent’s command step, it might be more worthwhile. The +1 to-wound is only worth trying to force with Melee Warriors, or other twin-linked weapons, and flamers (Neurotyrant has the bonus built-in).

I found Mawlocs interesting when combined with the -ld auras, especially when rapid ingressed to turn off offensive strats or kill actions like homers. Still too much variation for it to be a foundation for an overall strategy though. Better to build around the MW strat, but I feel you NEED SL for the CP… already starting you off on a rough baseline.

No one's leadership can go lower than 4 or higher than 9 so it usually doesn't do much to stack that hard.

Where is that written? Is it just off of leadership values? I was thinking leadership could be modified by more than 1 but could be wrong.

Thanks for pointing out mawlocs! Didn't think of that. Neurotyrant trigger would be done in their command phase to force them to be battleshocked for a full turn. My current idea was to use the strat to reroll hits/wounds of 1 coupled with a +1 to wound to have zoans hitting on 3s rerolling 1s and wounding marines on 2s rerolling 1s.
