Remember that time when you had fun spending time scrolling through the datasheets instead of exploding little dudes on the tabletop?
Yeah, me neither.

After running into a reddit thread and seeing what one fella did (but not finding the download link), I decided to have a go at this myself.
I present you compressed Datasheets with basic info. The format is that of a MTG card (~9cmx6cm) and should fit in card sleeves.
This is an example of one Datasheet card:


All 51 datasheets are arranged in the same order like in the Codex. 9 Datasheets per page, in *.png format. Forgeworld models are on the last page.

I would appreciate any feedback, and I will be updating the links and cards in case of any errors or typos that you report. I'm no expert in this so I'm counting on the Hive to point out and suggest changes. Final version will be updated here. Feel free to share anywhere you want/are allowed.

Some datasheets simply had too much text for full weapon names and/or weapon keywords, so I had to use abbreviations: TL = Twin-linked, B = Blast etc.
Also, some abilities I had to rephrase to make them fit in the format. Let me know if I messed something up and suggest a better wording.
Can someone print and let me know how did it turn out? I'm guessing to print with no margins, but I'm not sure.

After a quick looksie, and based on my limited knowledge (no codex):
Missing Vanguard Invader (I suggest you shorten this to VI or V.I.) - Winged Hive Tyrant,
Missing Harvester (H or H. perhaps?) - Pyrovore,

I suggest shortening several terms. Like Deadly Demise to DD, Deep Strike to DS, etc.
If something is unclear, they can just look it up a couple of times to learn the abbreviation on the card.

I strongly suggest using Leapers (just drop the von impguardname...).
Perhaps Tyranid Warriors (R) and Tyranid Warriors (M)

Other suggestions:
Do you have the option of using a scalable image for easy big cards if needed?
The backside seems blank, so perhaps you can use it for a horisontal layout with profile and weapons, and just use all rules vertically for the rules and keywords? (imo, no need for artwork on one side, I'd rather have an easier time to read. Name of unit on both sides so you can see who the stats/rules are for). Or just keep this vertical and optional horisontal with name+stats+weapon profile for those that want to print both sides and have an easier time reading them)
Current points after name instead of ripper symbols. Though this might be a bad idea. Don't want to reprint every balance pass Perhaps unit sizes?

Hey there!
Thank you very much for pointing those out.
I would like to keep abbreviations and changes from original entries to a minimum. Yes, the keywords don't matter after a few games, but for the people who didn't have the time to digest the Codex I tried to make things as clear as possible. Less time checking the Codex = more time to enjoy the game.

I can scale the cards relatively easy, but I did not use vector images to make them. To test I made a card big enough to cover four regular MTG cards and it's readable, but noticeably blurry-ish/er.

Having a name on the back would help and it wouldn't take too long to make. Maybe in a few days.

To be honest I wasn't sure how will various communities react to this, so I left out some information out on purpose (unit size, wargear options, leaders). If I added all that, the cards could replace Codex datasheets to a much higher degree than this, and I don't want that. If I keep it as "quick reference" I think more mods will approve of posting this, as many mods don't want to complicate things with copyright and GW.

Just an update for everyone - the Reddit fella finished his project, I'd say his are better than the ones I've made. It includes all info - detachments, stratagems and enhancements. If I understood correctly, his format is that of a standard poker card. Not sure if it's compatible with the standard MTG card sleeves, but with a bit of effort you could easily resize I guess.

Thanks for posting! I'm a bit bummed that the new data cards from GW do not contain detachment info or strats

MTG cards are 63.5mm x 88.9mm, no need to resize. Clean looking, though I’ll stick with my MTG cardsmith cards… I like pictures.

His are a bit easier to read from my (please do not swear) printer, but I appreciate all the effort from both. These will help a ton for quick looks without living with my nose in the codex.
