I really like the idea of stomping huge monsters up the board toward main objectives and using them to pull attention from secondaries where the rest of the army focuses. I am really new to playing 40k after reading lore for years. The only models I actually own atm are a Walking Tyrant and a Maleceptor I got in trade for some MtG Cards.

drop the bivores to 1 model per unit, extra models don’t add much to the unit.

Alien Cunning worth depends on when you can use it. it seems like most people are playing redeploys as before the roll-off, making it meh. Dropping the Tyrant Guard and running Adaptive Biology is how most people run a tyrant.

The pyros probably want to be cut a bit too, they are slow. Prob just running 1-2 single model units to help with screening is better.

Use the extra pts to add another exo, a lictor or two, and some Gargoyles.

Edit: granted all this advice could be invalid come the codex in 1-2 months. I’d suggest waiting on buying a lot of models until then.

All of this noted. I had planned on buying the codex at launch, models shortly after. I dont need an exact list per se, but getting advice and ideas on what works and how in a very general sense. I wouldnt have my WHT or my Maleceptor if they didn't cost me Magic Cards.

I would drop most of the pyrovores, 1 biovore per unit, and the tyrant guard. I would switch one of the haruspexes out for an exocrine, and change alien cunning to adaptive biology. With the extra points, I would get some battle line units. Monsters tend to be good at killing, but you might struggle to muster the OC to grab midfield objectives.

Love me some gargs . I tend to play a "chore doing" archetype of list, so I own what some players might refer to as "too many" gargoyles and termagants. Obviously the people who say that don't understand the joy I feel fielding triple digits of my derpy little boys.

The Emmy takes one side point (or mid vs horde or necrons) and the Mallys/Harus go to the other two points en masse supported by exocrines for rerolling 1's to hit. Position the neurolictor near mid for your shadow in the warp turn and jump it out nearest to anything that battleshocked for +1 hit/wound. Old one eye goes inbetween mid point and the Emmy's point to fall back and support or rush forward for melee damage. Don't forget Mally auras, haru battleshocks, and half OC from rippers if needed. Don't take more than 1 single biovore ever because you can only seed spores once. Between a biovore, deep striking rippers and the special lictors, secondaries should always max. If you want to stat check with monsters, zoans will always be targeted @t5. So, taking monster shooting helps mitigate your opponent's to-wound roll success.

With this list I literally just push forward, if they slam into me it never goes well, even for dedicated melee because of the maleceptor aura.

If they leave their backline exposed, the mawlocs and trygons show up in tandem, each turn for best impact.

People actually sweat to figure out how to deal but as always YMMV

How does the Tfex work for you? Do you think it would be better to drop it for a few Neurolictors to gain the +1 to-wound for all the other units and scoring?

It's the only concievable way to wound tanks on 3s save for Claws on the harus. He does very well, as you can intentionally take damage that will maim but not kill him to allow him to be fully mobile and keep his bs bonus or peel heavy things off of your other monsters.
