Hi through the Hive Mind!
I played a game versus Necrons last night and i'm sure you're all ready aware that it did not go well!
Apart from rolling below average on more or less everything and my opponents (yes plural, they wanted to play together which is unfair to begin with I think but anyways...... not being salty much XD)
I brought a Big Bug list for the lols, I wasn't trying to be competitive, I wasn't playing for secondaries only to smash. Plus his partner brought a load of units I wasn't expecting so I should have probably tailored more towards them if I had known but hey ho!
His List:
1 x Overlord
2 x Technomancer
1 x Transcendant C'Tan (this guy is absolutely broken)
1 x Nightbringer
1 x Doomsday Ark
1 x Canoptek Doomstalker
1 x Reanimator
1 X Canoptek Spyder
6 x Lokhust Destroyers (1 unit)
3 x Lokhust Heavy Destroyers (1 unit)
10 x Lychguard (1 unit)
20 x Necron Warriors
So before we started the game, we did a 1v1, Swarmlord vs Transcendant C'Tan, I did 1 wound with both shooting and melee, he killed me first turn (think I made 1 save but still died). Then he would just heal back up to full after.
Also another thing to note, these guys played "if you can see through a window, you can shoot it" regardless of being in the building or behind it (or behind multiple buildings but visible through multiple windows). This did not work well for me!

(like I said, it was meant to be a smash them list not scoring VP list)
He won first turn, used his 3 x Heavy Destroyers (no True LOS). 3 Attacks, 3 Hits, 3 Wounds (s14, -4ap, 6d), I saved 0 (I had no CP because i'd overwatched his destroyers killing 1. I should have saved it and used the strat for 6fnp I accidentally redeployed outside of 6 inches of any synapse so no 5fnp), 18 DAMAGE straight off the bat! I rolled 18 5fnp's to see how many I would have saved and I maded 3 saves (5,6 and a 6)..... glad i didnt waste the cp here!), then the rest of his stuff shot me and killed it (these had true LOS).
Anyways..... I kept playing even though I had lost because I didnt want it to be a wasted journey for me or his teammate. Put 2 acid sprays into his warriors and 2 exocrines (silly me playing true LOS at this point and should have used their rules). Still didnt kill the 20 man block led by a Techno. Put my Torrent attacks from my Swarmy and Neuro into the Lychguard, killed one! Charged my Tyranno into his Tans C'tan to tie him up and then was convinced to put my haruspex into him as well. Did 1 damage. He swung back and luckily my haruspex survived.
His turn, most of the warriors came back, the lychguard came back, the destroyer came back and the trans c'tan back to full health. He continued to shoot my stuff off the board. I survived turn 3 with 1 exocrine. At this point I conceded (i stopped counting score after my heirophant went down and left them to it so I don't know the final results but I imagine it was a crushing defeat).
So after I've licked my wounds and stopped being so salty, i'm asking for help! How the f*ck do you beat Necrons? Me rolling bad did not help and neither did shooting through multiple buildings at me!
Add on: We played out if I got first turn, I split fired my Heirophant into his H.Destroyers and Dooms Ark, killed the destroyers and did 3 damage to his ark. My exocrines mopped up his destroyers. Acid sprays killed half his warriors. This would have been a more enjoyable game. He couldn't really kill my Heirophant after this.
