Will index cards be valid when the codex drops?

The title says it all. Trying to plan out which index cards I want but I'm not sure I will buy cards that will be invalid in 3 months

You should wait until you play some games and see which units your opponents keep asking to see the rules for.

I would guess it will be Deathleaper and Neurotyrant, as they are obscure and the extra rules are utterly forgettable.

Just put the digital version on your phone for the time being, no sense in spending the money now when we don't know what will change with the Codex soon.

Note: I have three armies: Tyranids, GSC, and custodes. Trying to figure out if getting any of the sets of index cards for each army is worth it. Currently just using my phone which can create look up time issues

Maybe. Maybe not. They'll happily change index cards with Codex drops, but the impression is they won't just 'cause with Codex, and will also do so outside Codex. Basically don't bother to be honest, could change with Codex, dataslate, FAQ etc.

I could be misremembering, but didn't they say something about "the points are likely to change, but the stats and abilities are what they are, so buy the cards because they'll be this way for the whole edition"?

They said that rules would be one in one out but it was unclear if that included datasheets

Durability was my thought. Plus I didn't want to go through a bunch of ink as the PDFs have background patterns.

Standard playing card size I think, can fit in card sleeves for durability

In the interviews Stu Black did with the various Youtube content creators he very much gave the impression that once the Codex came out the Index would be obsolete.
