How much Synapse to bring in 10e?

I started the process of making lists in 10th and I don't know how much Synapse is necessary or advisable. Some things seem a little costly and getting a Babysitter on top with our Amazing 6inches of Synapse is harder than I thought. Sooo the question, How many Synapse Units does the Hive Recommend?

Depends on the list. Ideally you'd want at least 3 - backline support, middle board presence and a forward Synapse (if you're attacking opponents backline or contesting one flank).
If I was you I'd build my list normally without considering Synapse too much.

I mean, you got Zoanthropes that are dirt cheap and give you Synapse. You will probably want to include at least one of the Tyrants.
Ranged Warriors are great for backline. Neurogants could serve to spread the Synapse where you need it, and if you include NeuroTyrant for 105 points you're set.

yeah, this seems like a good idea to tackle the synaps problem. at first i was worried about the reduction to 6" synapse, but considering we got some pretty cheap synapse and they are spread over various roles this shouldnt be too much of a problem.

one other thing: i'm not sure where, but somewhere i read a discussion about giving broodlord the synaptic linchpin enhancement which would make him pseudo-synapse. but this might get errata'd to "synaptic linchpin only on synapse model".

There is no doubt about it at this moment as the Synaptic Linchpin wording is as follows:
"Tyranids model only. While a friendly Tyranids unit is within 9" of the bearer, that unit is within Synapse Range of your army."
Any character with has is Synapse 9".

It would be a whole different story if the wording said "extended the Synapse Range of this model by 3" or something similar.
Until the change comes - play it as written. It's not some broken combo or a loophole. Its either Broodlord or Parasite. It's not like they're going go win you games alone.
