Was there an update on psychic actions and casting rules?

Hello all.
Had a big hiatus, didn't play nephilim.
Now back with nids, heavy nerfs as you all know.
Was working on a list that focuses on secondaries AND gaining cp's while doing those.
Decided to focus on psychic interrogation, comboing it with horror to reduce the opponent leadership first.
In theory a neurothroph was going to get a resonance barb, and was going to give itself the 3d6 pick 2 when casting, and was going to cast horror AND THEN do the interrogation, all by himself.

Decided to test this out agains the worst possible opponent army, the custodes.
While I lost the game I produced more than 50 secondary obj. cps. A lot behind the enemy lines, and mission specific things, and spore nodes etc.

And produced 6 vps for the interrogation, however couldn't more or get the cp, not beacuse of 11 leadership, but because it seems that there was rules update.

And now we can EITHER cast powers or DO ONE PSYCHIC ACTION.
Is this true or are we reading it wrong? I'm pretty sure in the past we could swap one cast with one psychic action. Was there an update somewhere in the way while I was away?

True. The only exception is when malaceptor's imperative is on, which allows you to do both. Though you still consume 1 cast for the psychic action

Thanks. This is bad for my idea, because I really need all those cp's...

You can still cast the horror with someone else through synaptic link.. with a 5 to cast it should be fairly reliable with just about any caster.. maybe a hive tyrant in the back, so you cant be denied?

Also, do note that you can only ever recieve 1 extra CP from any source (unless otherwised specified).. the bonus CP you get at the start of the turn is not counted

Uhhh...what? Secondaries are capped at 15 VP (assuming you mean VP and not CP, which is even more capped and how would you even think you'd get that much).

No, it's worked like that the entire edition.

A PSYKER unit from your army can attempt to perform a psychic action in its Psychic phase instead of attempting to manifest any psychic powers
